My family and I love Pace's. For years we would travel down to the bountiful (and then the only location) Pace's and get great food. But I have to say that as the years have passed the quality of the bountiful location has gone seriously down hill. The teenagers that work there now are not very friendly or helpful. They are also slow and don't make very good burgers. I also can't get a decent malt from them anymore! The last time I went there for a Chocolate Malt there wasn't a single taste of malt to be found. It was just a semi-chocolaty shake. When I challenged the kid who had took my order I slowly found out that he really didn't know what a malt was! He assumed it was just more chocolate in the shake. Double face palm.
Now, the experiences I have had at the Layton Pace's have been far superior. They are always friendly and fast and my malts are malty! When I worked close by several years ago I would usually go once a week. I have NEVER had a bad experience here. I'm not sure if it's the same family that runs the two places, but if so your bountiful location could learn a thing or two from the Layton location! Keep up...
Read moreThey are the best ever hamburger/onion ring/fries joint in the whole USA!!! I can say it from going to the original Bountiful location and the newer Layton location for over 25 years!!! All the food is very very good and it has only been at the most 1-2 times that we have had a very very very minor problem with service or food quality!!!
The very best burger is the Country Boy W/Cheese (CBC) and then choose the fries or onion rings (these are to die for) with the BEST fry sauce around and you have to wrap it up with a RAINBOW!!!!! The Rainbow will need to have EXTRA Ice Cream and the a partial suicide of grape, cherry and peach flavors in the same cup!!
We have lived out of town for most of the 25 years and this is the ONLY place we'll make sure we eat out at when we are visiting the area!!!!
I give them the very very very best of tips because of all the years of such a great place to visit and eat!
I've NEVER worked their or not at all related to the owners of the company - just a very very loyal...
Read moreI wanted a milkshake..not soft serve ice cream in a cup. But I live in Utah so I knew I had to be specific. So, I ordered a chocolate milkshake and specifically asked the gal to add milk (thus the name milkshake) and I told her it was so that I could drink it through a straw. She brought it to me a few min later but had not added milk as the "shake" was higher than the cup because it was so thick...and there was no straw, just a long spoon. When I asked for a straw, she gave me a little flimsy straw that collapsed just by pushing it into the "shake" let along try to drink from it. When I asked why they can't make a "milkshake", she just chuckled and said "that's how we make them".... I guess actually ordering something specific does not matter. The fact that they were unable to make a milkshake even when specifically requested tells me to take my business elsewhere. It did taste good...for soft serve ice...
