Review is based on a single visit mid-day on a late September Saturday. Ordered two asada tacos, two carnitas tacos, a side of beans and a side of rice. Quality of tacos and rice was very good. Beans were refried and plain (could have been out of a can). Service was good considering that there was only one guy there working. Price of tacos was reasonable. Price of rice and bean sides was too high for small quantities served. Good selection of well-chilled bottled beverages.
Suggestions for improvement: Reduce price of rice and bean sides or give more. Improve beans recipe...whole beans would be much better. Add a small quantity of onions to beans. Maybe serve beans in a bowl. Add chopped green onions to rice, or add something similar. Offer a side of cooked onions. Serve one radish and one roma tomato slice per taco on the side. For the carnitas, consider serving smaller chunks of meat or serving it as pulled pork. Give customers larger paper plates for individual use. Incorporating a few of these suggestions could earn...
Read moreLook, there's a lot of tacos in PNW and so you can be overcrowded with different options and styles. Down here in Lincoln city we have a taqueria called Melos. I've eaten street tacos all over Oregon and these can hold up to a lot of the ones set up In furthering cities. The tacos are juicy to the point when you take a bite it drips. The chicken tacos aren't plain in flavor at all and the carnitas are crispy and delicious. My favorite thing is his Habanero sauce. You get a rumbust flavor blast of the pepper mixed with decent heat that makes you wanna drench your tacos in it. The only gripe I have with this place is a street taco shouldn't be 3.25 or more. It makes going in for 3 or 4 tacos as much as a full meal is in other resturaunts. If you have a craving for street tacos, this is the...
Read moreTried this little gem tonight. My husband and I always like to try some place new when we stay in Lincoln City and this place was it this time. All of them were pretty tasty but my favorites were definitely the carnitas and carne asada. The carnitas were nice and crispy which I loved and the carne asada had a nice texture and flavor as well. They had 3 sauces that went well with the meats and I liked the red and green but the habanero was too spicy for me but the husband loved it. My husband also had the guajolote which he said was delicious and something a little different than the normal torta style sandwiches we've tried. The prices were good as well. 7 tacos, a torta sandwich and a large bottle of coke with tip only came to $27. Will definitely be a place we'll...
