Ali Baba Gyro — Restaurant in Lincoln

WORST PLACE - Its so sad because it used to awesome but Ali Baba has new ownership and their service is horrid. Honestly, I'm not sure if the dude at the register was just mumbling or if he was trying to screw with me. They have this plexiglass janky fort built up around their service counter and its impossible to hear anything. So I order 6 wings with fries, and a drink. I saw the cost and was a little surprised and the register had already clicked to payment so I asked him to see the total since it was $17. A drink is 3.99 and 6 wings with fries is 12.99, with tax it was insanely expensive. I'm not sure if the exchange I had with him was annoying them but seriously THEY DID NOT GIVE ME MY FOOD FOR 50 MIN. There were 5 other customers that came in while I was standing there waiting. Initially chicken wings came off the grill, he showed them to me and said "mummmmble". I tried to lean in over the plexi barrior and asked him to repeat. He said, "do you want fries on top? (Showing me the chicken wings) and I said "oh no, I need them to be separate." Then I stood there and waited. 5 people came in and got food almost immediately. They gave those wings to someone that came in and they gave away drinks to a regular who didn't order it. Speaking clear english and was perfectly annunciated. I could see there were no fries in the frier and the chicken wings were just parked on the grill. Eventually after their male customers where happily finished receiving food. The cook literally went to the back and left the grill. This cashier dude squirted them with this red firey looking sauce and grilled them again. He put fries in the frier and let them sit in there for about 2 minutes. They were literally limp when I opened the box. Plus the wings were like straight fire and not edible. I opened the box and the spice hit me in the face so had a small taste and my lips burned the rest of the night. I left the horrible food on the table and left. My friends had thier food and were waiting for me outside for like 50 minutes. I felt like I couldn't ask them what was up because the guy refused to speak words and the cook left.

I miss the guy that would say "You haven't come to see me in a long time! I miss you!" and would make the most incredible greek chicken and gyros. What is with this new ownership. Stop going there! Go to Sultans or any of the other 5 Mediterranean places in downtown Lincoln.

Like the beastie boys said Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves! They just take your money and mumble stuff until you say "open sesame" and make your way to Sultans Kite. Never...

My buddy just picked us up some gyros from here and I was very disappointed with my chicken gyro. The first thing I noticed was that the lettuce was browning, total turn off, but I just picked it off and continued eating. After a couple bites I feel something hard as I bite just to find a bone in my chicken, whatever at this point, I continue eating. Couple more bites and I keep getting bone after bone, had to throw the rest of it away. I called asking if bones in their chicken was normal protocol and the man on the other end laughed in my face, some customer service huh! I told him that there's probably no bones in the restaurant because they ended up in my gyro and he just told me to come in and get a new sandwich. Long story short, I'm never ordering from this place again due to the horrible customer service and I'll let all my friends know about...
