We were in town for Columbus Day Weekend, and the entire town was super busy. Finding places to eat was pretty difficult as everywhere was booked and at capacity. Sunday night other restaurants were closing early due to being too busy. This place was about the only place left open other than some pizza places.. so we decided to stop. At the door was a sign that said they were short staffed, and being as busy as it was we did expect some delays and waits. We were the 3rd party through the door waiting to be seated. We didn't see anyone come up front for a good 5 minutes. The dining area is separate from the entry way so we couldn't see if anyone had even noticed that we were waiting. Finally we all got seated, pretty much everyone that was waiting was seated at the same time, so this caused some slowness as well. Parties that came in after us were getting drinks before us.. etc. After quite a long wait our server brings over chips and salsa but still hasn't taken our drink order. I watch her give other tables the wrong orders, she almost handed us someone else's drinks. The table next to us had all their food but no utensils and it took a good 10 minutes to get those utensils. I assumed this was just because of how busy it was. However after watching the restaurant for awhile I saw that our server was handling a max of 5 tables which isn't really too much, and 2 of her tables were eating or being served when we came in... We finally got food and drinks. When I asked for a refill on my Sprite it came out yellow. I asked about this and the server said there was a bit of coke in there because that was poured before my drink. I asked for a fresh drink with no coke and she began to argue but eventually just went and got a new drink. Our food came and it was very good. My husband ordered tacos with nothing but meat and rice and it came out exactly as he wanted (this is usually messed up at other places). I wasn't going to leave a review since we don't know why the service was bad.. maybe that server was new or maybe she had worked too long that day.. I don't know. But the food was really good and I'd probably go back again and give them another...
Read more$20 for a burrito is non-sense and highway robbery. Fish tacos with what seemed like tilapia for $23... the only thing that made sense was the paella and even then, they only put two shrimp in the dish. For someone that isn't used to these foods, this may seem like a deal but it is the furthest thing from it.
The food was made cheap and they want top dollar... however, you can tell this is a vacation city because everyone is setup to serve you only once and never see you again. They don't care for repeat service.
The guy that brought out my food was even prepped for me to complain, I could sense it off his body language when receiving the bill. I thought something was wrong but when I seen it, I understood why he was acting that way. I stayed quiet at first assuming a mistake had been made. But as he was away, he became preoccupied with someone looking to sit down. He tended to them and when he came back, I asked about $20 burrito, at which point he unloaded that the owner would be back later if I wanted to speak wit him/her and that he was just a middle man, which he is and it isn't his fault. I could sense he was uncomfortable and it wasn't his fault, and it also was not the first time he experienced this.
If I were reading this review, note that this is one of two Latin places in the area and I can attest that this isn't worth it. Go to the market and cook at your place if you can help it. The food is bearable but just not worth the amount you'll spend on it.
I've had the pho, Italian, and Latin. I'm seriously unimpressed.
The only place in this area that has been worth it is Flapjacks (though they too are pricey). Rest of these places could learn a lesson or two. Service and attitude made...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped in, mostly because we were driven by curiosity to see what sort of Mexican food Lincoln would have to offer. Having tried it, we've concluded it's a decent pitch but nowhere near a home run.
Wanting to try as many things as possible, we ordered beef nachos and the 'Mexican combo' - a combination platter that included an enchilada, a chimichanga, and a tostada (along with a side of rice and beans). The combo was a little disappointing. I found it to be a somewhat repetitive iteration of the same three ingredients - tortilla, dry chicken, and cheese. The accompanying rice and beans, too, were underwhelming. We liked the nachos far better, which had a generous amount of well-seasoned beef and thick chips that somehow maintained their crunch under a mountain of cheese. Personally, we found the blanket of cheese to be a little much, but cheese-lovers will have met their match with this order.
The highlight of our meal was actually the free chips and salsa. The salsa absolutely slaps, approaching near perfection in texture, spice, and flavor. If we didn't notice the small print on the menu that explains a surcharge for additional refills, we probably would have run up quite the charge on just these.
Inside, the restaurant is larger than it looks, and it seems it's got the footprint of two restaurants split by a wall. The first dining room is a little drab and quiet, while the adjoining space is festive with a bar, decorations, and (randomly?) some arcade games. We found no fault with the service, which was prompt, friendly,...
