I recently had the pleasure of visiting George's Gourmet Grill, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable culinary experience. Nestled in the heart of downtown, this gem of a gyro shop is an absolute must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mediterranean flavors. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The vibrant energy of the place was palpable, and at the center of it all was Chef George, the beating heart of this establishment. George’s passion for his craft is evident in every dish he prepares. Watching him work is like witnessing a maestro conduct a symphony – each movement precise, each ingredient carefully chosen, and each gyro a masterpiece. The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and eager to make sure every aspect of my dining experience was perfect. They took the time to explain the menu, recommend their favorite dishes, and ensure my order was just right. But the real star of the show was the gyro. It was, without a doubt, the best gyro I have ever tasted. The pita was perfectly warm and soft, encasing a generous portion of succulent, marinated meat that was grilled to perfection. The flavors exploded in my mouth with each bite – the savory, tender meat balanced beautifully with the freshness of the vegetables and the creamy, tangy tzatziki sauce. Every ingredient was top-notch, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Chef George’s energy is contagious, and it reflects in the food he creates. He doesn't just make gyros; he crafts an experience that stays with you long after the last bite. The gyro wasn’t just a meal; it was a journey through the rich, aromatic landscape of Mediterranean cuisine. If you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and visit George's Gourmet Grill. The combination of outstanding service, vibrant atmosphere, and the best gyro you’ll ever have is simply unbeatable. Chef George and his team have truly set the bar high, making this not just a meal,...
Read moreI want to rate this place better, the food really was pretty good. However, I’m not sure if this is an everyday type of thing, but their was only one guy running the entire restaurant. From taking orders, making food, really everything that has to be done. I am sure it is hard to find work right now, but just running it with one guy was not doing it. I want to have compassion for the guy having to do everything with no help, but it is still a Business. Their was no way to know who’s order was who. When taking the order, their is no order number or name written down, and a lot of people order the same thing, so you end up playing the who was in line first game with everyone in the store. It was so backed up that customer’s were really frustrated. One even started complaining to the guy running the store. While he did not go about it in a very good way, he got yelled and cursed at and told to leave the store by the Manager. It seemed to scare a lot of the people, we thought a fight was about to brake out. I know he was having a bad day, but it still is no way to act towards his customers. Plus when we first entered the store to order, one of the people in our group had a guide dog aka a Service animal. He refused to take her order saying that dogs are not allowed. According to the ADA mister, the laws say...
Read moreI used to like going here as the food is fantastic. But since my most recent trip, I'll never go there again and I'll tell you why. This last trip was the first time I'd taken my service dog, Jessabelle, with me since I started training with her. She was behaving exactly how she's supposed to, so I figured it would go over without a hitch. Boy was I wrong. I arrived to an underage boy behind the counter who took my order but promptly told me he was allergic to dogs. I informed him that she was allowed since she is a service animal, to which he gave me an inconsiderate look but left us alone. When the normal store owner showed up out of the back room, he asked what I'd ordered and made my food, but kept giving Jessabelle and myself disapproving looks. Shortly after I'd gotten my food I was asked to sit on the patio, "so they could clean for the next shift"... I complied even though it was hot outside, but when some more people showed up moments after I went to the patio, they were not asked to sit outside and there was no way they cleaned that fast. So I am certain I was discriminated against, I filed a report with the DOJ about it, and I'll never go...
