El Salvador Los Primos — Restaurant in Logan

Terrible! My husband and I do a date night once a week which usually consists of going to a local restaurant and eating dinner. Last Friday we chose this place, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! My husband received his food and was more than ½ done eating (he was eating slow but didn’t want his food to get cold) when my waiter finally came over and said, “you’re still waiting for your food?” another 20 minutes I received my food. When it was finally brought, I asked what the problem was, and he just lowered his head and said he was sorry. I told him at that point I didn’t think I should have to pay for it. He said he would check with his manager. He NEVER came back. When we went up to the register to pay the bill, I asked him what the manager had said. He said I still had to pay. The food wasn’t that good, the service was TERRIBLE (and please note I am very understanding of the fact places are understaffed and I make allowance for this) and the desire to make sure customers have a pleasant experience is NON existent. Well to start with the experience was a good one. I will be going back again. When we sat down we read the menu, and I asked the young waitress a lot of questions because most of the menu was in Spanish, I assume. She did her best but my questions were to much. That look you get as dad from your high school daughter,,,, the eye thing. I politely smiled and said thank you. she left and I got my Google translator out. I figured out what everything was. Most of the surrounding customers were laughing watching me on my phone translating back and forth. I did order and the food was made and brought to us. My wife's meal portions were enough for 2. Mine was very large also. Plenty for a grown, hungry, Man All of the patrons eating around us had lots on their plates too. Now the food tasted different to what I was use to. The flavors were VERY good. I was VERY impressed. I cant say enough about the food and the flavors that I had. I will be going back. I hope that my experience was normal and not a one time thing. These folks know corn masa. Im are talking perfect fresh corn tortillas the size of your head! Hand made sopes with the crispy bottom! Everything here seems to be from scratch. They bring three big bottles of salsa and a big tub of pickled slaw to every table as well as chopped onion/cilantro. I went here in the evening and were back the next day. Mole was incredible over a bone in chicken thigh cooked perfectly. Caldo de Rez had that lovely sweet squash flavor in the broth. Their open faced enchiladas were doing things with flavor I had never experienced. And the papusas... these are the real deal y'all. This place just does things right. They dont fall into the trap of heavy meals with a ton of grease. Very well balanced with a lot of vegetables to even it out. Just come and order something that is on the rotating menu for the day. Best part is the prices are more than reasonable, like I don't understand how they are doing this quality for those prices!
