This is actually the first review for a restaurant I’ve ever left online, but I’m hoping to bring some issues to the attention of the owners. Last Friday we came to this restaurant at 9:10 (closing time is advertised as 10:00) with a large group of 17. The hostess told us she couldn’t seat us together which is understandable and we told her no problem. But then she started calling our group back 4 at a time and seating each group in booths on opposite ends of the restaurant. I asked her if we could possibly get a bigger table or pull 2 tables of 4 together since we were planning to share pizzas. She shrugged and said no. I could actually see many empty tables in the restaurant with more seating capacity than 4, including a large table with seating capacity of at least 12-15. I pointed to one and asked if we could sit in one of them instead and was told “that section didn’t have a waitress assigned to it” so we couldn’t. I asked if we could at least sit in tables nearer to each other and they finally consented to putting us into booths closer to each other, still at 4 tables with groups of 4. By this time it was 9:30 and the waitress came and, before she took our drink orders, told us we had to order any food we wanted immediately because their kitchen was closing. We tried to be as accommodating as possible with 1 check and 1 person ordering for the whole group. But we were rushed and made to feel unwelcome from start to finish. The waitress did come and say thanks for being understanding we’ve had a hectic day. But I didn’t feel at all understanding at all, 😂 it made no sense to sit there at 4 separate tables with my group, surrounded by empty tables with more seating capacity. I’ve been a waitress at multiple restaurants and I understand the job is hectic and a large group coming in closer to closing time can feel like a bummer after a long shift. But I would have never treated a customer the way we were treated. It also is very poor customer service to separate a group of 17 into 4 separate tables on opposite ends of the dining room unless the dining room is full to capacity and no larger or closer tables are available. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to pull a few tables together and try to be accommodating if they are available. As a restaurant owner, I would want to know if my employees were treating customers this way. Paying customers are entitled to courtesy whether they arrive at...
Read moreDecent pizza with notably bad service.
The bad service and bad atmosphere starts with their new sign that is proudly hanging front and center when you walk in. I took a picture of it and attached it to this review. It gives me the impression that the sign really wants to say, “cut us some slack because you’re probably a loser yourself”. Telling customers to “just be nice” as you’re walking through the door is shocking, not inviting AT ALL, and very rude.
On a similar note, I want to mention that I see the owner of this establishment personally attacking and making disrespectful comments toward customers that leave negative reviews. That kind of behavior is just as distasteful as the sign.
DONT come in with a large group since the service won’t satisfy. They delayed my party being seated just for them to separate us and put us at the smallest tables in the restaurant. The restaurant was almost empty and all the employees were standing around chatting doing nothing. We asked if we could sit at the large table that would’ve fit our party, or even sit at tables close by, but we were denied because “they were busy”. My party sat isolated from one another in an empty restaurant all while the large table we could’ve all been seated at stayed empty the entire time we were there.
On another occasion, my grumpy waiter, who donned the name tag of someone with a lead position, never actually checked on us or even walked by and my drink was left empty the whole night. It was the worst experience I’ve had with a waiter at any sit down restaurant.
I leave two stars because out of the many times I’ve been here, there were some times where the food was good and the service was normal, but there’s also been a weirdly large amount of times that the service was genuinely bad. Not a great atmosphere...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Firehouse and ordered a Focaccia bread and pizza like we normally do and to our surprise the pizza was doughy and the bread was stale. The next day I noticed my card had been charged twice. When I went in to see what could be done, the host said the owners weren't there so I would just have to come back Monday. So I asked if a manager would be able to help and she sighed loudly and walked to the back. I'm assuming she didn't think I could still see her because instead of getting a manager she sat on her phone and started eating some cake. I kept waiting when finally a manager came out. The next thing I knew there were two managers and a mixture of 4 hosts and servers all surrounding the front desk. Feeling overwhelmed I showed them the duplicate charge and said I would be happy with a reversal on my card or an in store credit. Although my experience the previous night wasn't positive, I was willing to give it another try. Several of them got very defensive and all started talking and trying to explain what happend at the same time. Management acted annoyed even after I showed them the duplicate charge. They said that whoever ran my card yesterday probably messed up but that the charge would hopefully be reversed in a week or so. Regardless if it is or isn't I felt like as a customer my experience was terrible and as a business they should have been more professional and made sure I left happy. Instead i'm annoyed I feel like none of my questions got answered. Needless to say, I will not be a returning customer at...
