First time here. I ate and played some games. This review is based on dining experience. I normally go to the Irvine Spectrum location and order the salmon well done. That’s what I ordered here. I found a total of 3 bones. I ignored the first one as an accident as I KNOW it rarely happens (yes I know there are bones in fish when they are alive - just want to disclaimer). Told waitress about the bones; manager stops by and says we can’t remove the plate from the bill because I ate most of the fish. My aunt defends me but I’m wondering while she’s laying into the manager, “how am I supposed to know where the bones are located? The first half, the last quarter? The last bite?” Manager says “you have to expect bones in fish just like if you ordered chicken wings (which we did) there’s bones.” At this point I’m just confused but my aunt continues to argue with him and he agrees to take it off the bill. I never said one word but I wondered about his logic. Why would he even try to argue himself out of a situation that MOST would know is wrong. I could understand if we were drunk and were being loud and breaking things. But this was a situation where I found bones in a meal I was not expecting. I eat fish all the time, only three times have I ever found bones in the years I’ve ate fish. Like I said, I order the fish at the D&B in Irvine Spectrum. I eat it at all the coastal restaurants up and down California. I don’t think this “sitiation” (situation) counts for much an expectation but rather a rare occurrence to which the manager should have referred to. “This rarely occurs and I’m sorry it happened, let me make it right.” But instead he opted to argue and tell us that it is a doggone law that bones will exist in fish just as they do in chicken wings (AFTER it hits your table). The conviction in his words was so strong that it seemed like not even evidence to the contrary would have changed his mind. The darn fish could have spoke these words and the manager would have not believed it! I believe he only removed it from the bill because my aunt defended me with much more conviction than he had with there being bones in fish. So if this is true, people go out and meet the “bones in fish evangelist” at Dave and Busters in Long Beach, CA because any fish you get in all of Southern California, EXPECT there to ALWAYS be bones! Tell your kids too! Tell the manufacturers to put a chocking hazard label on there as well cause they be bones up in these fish you eat at Dave a’ B’s in...
Read moreHad a really bad experience (potential Norovirus exposure) my one and only time at this particular location. My experience took place on 9/1/23 for my niece's bday party. We were a group of more than 15, with a mixture of ages.
My wife and I both ate hamburgers and shared a few bites with our granddaughter. We were the only ones to eat burgers in the whole group. My daughter and I played some games after dinner but before the cake.
I used the restroom once. My wife neither played games nor went to the restroom at any time. After playing games for around an hour I began to feel off. At the time I was thinking it was do to a long work week and the noise level was obsurdly obnoxious.
I felt so off that I felt that it was best that I leave just after candles were blown out. I took my granddaughter to the car and we waited it out. At the time I still felt that it was the noise that was making me feel this way and I figured that it would be best to get my granddaughter out of the noise,
Anyhow Saturday came and went like everything was normal. On Sunday afternoon I was trying to make arrangements to leave town the next week, and decided to call my wife. Come to find out that she had vomited and had excessive diarrhea and she was not interested in any plans.
When I got home at around 5pm Sunday, I discovered that my granddaughter also had diarrhea. Still I didn't think much of it. But at around 8pm I had mild diarrhea and by 10pm I threw up for the first time in over 10 years!!! It has been more than a week and after quaranteening, including missing work and other family events, we are finally recovered.
Checking with all others at the party, it was only the two of us that contracted what seems like "NOROVIRUS". We are the only ones that ate the burgers. We both had different drinks. I used the restroom and did some gaming, while my wife did not do either. Symptoms for Norovirus usually appear sometime between 1-2 days. I have seen another review with the same kind of outcome, so this leads my to believe that this location has sanitary food control problems. Come to this location at your own risk!!! Not sure if I will ever attend a Dave and Busters again as my experiences have never been so bad but...
Read moreVery bad experience. Bad staff, bad service. My wife and I drove 45 minutes to D&B LB to watch our NFL team. We called the day before (no answer), so when we arrived, l asked a waiter if the game would be on. With an attitude, he said "probably." I asked him to confirm, he checked a book, came back and said "yes." We were seated (after politely asking not to be sat in the back at a bad-view table, which annoyed him again). Ordered drinks, got the drinks, asked what was the hind up on showing the game, then 20-30 minutes later the waiter tells us: "Bad news, we're not showing the game" Game day ruined. The manager offered some game play, but it wasn't about that--it was about being misled and treated poorly. The waiter even laughed at us from across the room with another employee, which was childish and unprofessional. I later contacted upper management and got the same empty promises with no follow-up. No accountability. It's not about freebies--it's about basic hospitality, honesty, and respect. Sadly, D&B LB failed on all counts. Pretty sure time won't favor this chain if they don't fix their issues, and soon they will follow the steps of Cracker Barrel and On the Border. Because in a time when chains like TGI Fridays, Denny's, Ruby Tuesday, Red Lobster--even Popeyes, Burger King, and McDonald's--are facing significant closures and financial difficulties, it is important to maintain an edge by providing good, reliable customer service and making sure you don't burn their...
