This place is awesome! I was looking for a place to host my birthday at after Covid ruined having one last year. After getting jerked around at other potential venues I remembered that a lady friend who is very hard to impress had mentioned this is her favorite bar in LA so I went in to ask if it was a possibility. Flash forward, Vincent the owner turned out to be the coolest most welcoming guy and set me up with the best birthday party Iāve ever had: He set us up in their private area in the back that spills out into the main bar so you get the best of both worlds and he had the bartender make some special drinks to serve just for my party, themed after my personality and printed on a picture of me from social media. My friends loved it and we had the best time! The bar is really classy and inviting, the ladies in our group particularly liked the vibe and Iām pretty sure two of my friends who met there that night fell in love and I think the classy atmosphere where the friendly bartenders are super welcoming and treat you like a king only facilitated the magic. The food is great and well priced, the drinks are great, and itās very obvious to me that Vincent takes pride in every aspect of this place because every little detail is immaculate and the staff is well chosen, friendly, and attentive unlike many LA bars. Like my friend who suggested this place, I now agree that, yes, this is my favorite bar in LA. It would be a good spot to take a date or an an old friend from out of town, or to finish up the night after a crazier place because you can actually have a conversation here and enjoy yourself rather than scream. Itās more classy and low key than the other bars in the area while still being fun and the clientele reflects that vibe. The fist thing you notice is everyone is smiling and happy. You...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start off by saying I liked the atmosphere and the music was poppin' . I also appreciate Vince "looking out for me", because he didn't have to; as I am an employee of this location on the "shared property"...but, what was not appreciated is the phone call i recieved and the owner implying I was trying to "run game" ... Instead of him saying "hey I'm sure the reciept for signature may have gotten lost in the hustle and bustle of the bar"(which is what had to have happen as I DID sign the first receipt) he said : "they said you didn't sign your reciept, we can't process your payment without a signature" I immediately went down to his "office" & once again, although he wasn't rude or nasty , yet it was an underline implying...(it just came off& rubbed me wrong) he had a chance to revisit & reword his statement to something like "it probably got lost on the bar(it was busy and the 2 bar staff were "pulled all ways" ..." he said "yeah usually they are good with that(picking up the reciepts)" well, apparently not so much or sometimes "ish" just happens ...I just felt he could have chosen his words better and less "implying" tone...my word & character &my job ! means a great deal to me...more than $20 dollars of wings & fries ... i seriously say before people can get a business license they need to be made to complete a Customer Service/ Customer Relations course & learn techniques in communicating...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor our anniversary, the hubs and I decided to stop by here for pre-theater drinks and finger foods. I've heard about this place quite a bit, and have been meaning to stop by for years. This was my first time.
We walked in around Sunday 6pm and grabbed two seats by the bar. I explained to the friendly bartender that we have to make our visit short since we are going to the theater shortly. She took our food order immediately, and explained that she'd drop off the order first before taking our drink orders, as the food would probably take longer to make than the drinks. I appreciate her level of cooperation!
We got a beer and a cocktail. The cocktail was okay, the beer was great. The finger foods arrived quickly, and we happily ate. We ordered Swedish Turkey Meatballs, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and Sausages with Bread & Mustard. The Sausages with Bread & Mustard was really good, the other two items were just okay.
All in all, it was a short but pleasant visit. The bartender was attentive, and had presented the bill shortly after she dropped the food off (again, I was on a schedule here and she knew that). I was happy to discover that everything was discounted for happy hour prices. I loved The Well and I'd love to come...
