Tender Greens — Restaurant in Los Angeles

This isn’t my first time at this location. I’ve been to this location a few times. This time and the past time has definitely been a disappointment.

Inside of the restaurant was a little bit messy. There was still stuff on tables that staff members had yet to clean. There were plenty of staff members around, I just think they were worried about other things.

I was ordering takeout. When I got to the counter, I was told that they were out of multiple items. That in itself was frustrating. I was told that if I was going to order anything with chicken that I could not order all white meat. That too irritated me for the simple fact I wanted chicken, and I only want white meat. I am definitely not a fan of dark meat. I even said to the staff member why was that. She told me it’s because they had ran out of a lot of different items and certain chicken plates could not have all white meat. That didn’t make sense to me at all. I said; well the buttermilk chicken can that have all white meat? She said yes, that one can. Huh? Made no sense. Anyways, I got the buttermilk chicken with mashed potatoes and Romain lettuce for the salad. I also ordered the steak bowl.

When I got home to eat my food, I was absolutely furious. My buttermilk chicken that I was told that I could have all white meat was actually all dark meat. Mind you I will not eat dark meat at all. So that was totally a waste of my money. I couldn’t call the restaurant because they had already closed. My food was cold. I had no white meat and the bread had no crunch whatsoever. My daughters food, however, was fine. Needless to say, I think this will be my last time at this location. Between the last time I was here and this time of times, I was disappointed.

Shocking. Ordered vegan salad which took half an hour to make . Order was to go. The salad had toast on it which is not supposed to be there and looked like it had butter on it not being vegan as salad is advertised. Drove 15 minutes back to restaurant as not only checking on bread being vegan but three leaves were very mouldy. When got to restaurant I asked one of the cooks who you can see cooking the bread on same grill next to beef using same tongs and they said bread has dairy butter on it. Then went to the order taker who said bread has no butter but oil . So the cook doesn't seem to know what's on the bread or the order taker doesn't . Then the manager came over and argued the leaves were not mouldy which they were and argued the bread is vegan even though it's not supposed to be on the dish anyway. It took one hour in total from ordering to getting a refund which they were vague about and said if I don't receive the refund next week call us. .. then I contacted customer service to tell them that they are putting non vegan items on a vegan salad that are not even on the dish recipe and that even if the bread only has oil which is debatable..it shouldn't be called vegan if cooking on same grill directly next to beef and using same tongs to flip it. But the customer support were basically saying I should have told the manager which I did ..and offered zero concern . I think between the rotten leaves and the fact the cooks don't seem to have any care or knowledge about what's in or on the food I will stay way clear...

To add to the original comment below from 3 years ago, well tha today I forgot about this location. It was terrible. Steak was so rough smh. Wish I would’ve never forgot.

The Hollywood location on Sunset is by far the worst Tender Greens location i have EVER been to. They said they'd have my food ready at a certain time, it ended up being 6 minutes past time. I ordered online so I can just grab and go because I was headed to work but since I got the food late I ended up being late to work. The server or young lady at the register handing out orders had an attitude and actually sort of threw my bag towards me. And on top of all of that, the food was not good and was COLD! I ordered steak, the steak had so much fat on it, I ordered kale salad, they gave me spinach. And looked like someone just threw everything in there. I wasn't gonna complain if the food was good which it usually is but unfortunately for me today IT WASN'T! I have NEVER had this type of experience at the location in West Hollywood, Downtown LA, Glendale, Pasadena, Santa Monica or Studio City. NEVER!
