Walking into Dylan’s Candy Bar in LA feels like stepping into a candy lover’s dream world. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re surrounded by bright colors, playful displays, and the sweetest aroma that instantly makes you feel like a kid again. The store is beautifully laid out, with every corner offering something new to explore—whether it’s chocolates, gummies, lollipops, or their famous candy-filled novelties. One of the best things here is the sheer variety. They’ve got both the classics you grew up with and more unique treats you can’t easily find elsewhere. The bulk candy wall is a highlight—you can fill a bag with a mix of everything you love. They also carry branded and themed candy that make for great gifts or souvenirs. The staff are friendly and patient, even with kids running around trying to decide what to pick (which, let’s be honest, is half the fun). They’re happy to answer questions, recommend something new, or help with gift packaging. Prices are a bit on the higher side compared to a regular candy shop, but it’s really about the experience—you’re not just buying candy, you’re enjoying the atmosphere and presentation that Dylan’s is famous for. If you’re visiting with kids, they’ll be absolutely delighted, but honestly, it’s just as much fun for adults who want to indulge their sweet tooth or feel a bit nostalgic. The store is also Instagram-worthy, with so many colorful displays and fun backdrops. Overall, Dylan’s Candy Bar in LA is more than just a candy store—it’s an experience. Whether you’re popping in for a quick sugar fix, looking for a unique gift, or simply want to soak in the playful vibe, this place won’t disappoint. A must-visit spot if you’re in the area and want a little extra sweetness in your day!

We visited this candy store at The Grove with our kids, and what was supposed to be a fun, happy experience turned into one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The store itself looks nice, with lots of different gummies, candies, and fun things for kids. Naturally, my children were excited looking at all the different options. My 3-year-old tried one candy, didn’t like it, and then picked out something else he wanted. We had already chosen two bags of candy we were ready to buy, and then my son picked a big rainbow lollipop. Everything was fine until one of the employees approached us in a very rude and humiliating way, telling us to “stop sampling” and even saying we should “be ashamed.” First of all, the candies and gummies are openly displayed in a way that makes it seem like you can taste before buying (like many candy shops do). But even if there was a misunderstanding, the way she spoke to us — in front of my kids — was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. We were paying customers, not people trying to take advantage of the store. To make things worse, when I went to pay, I handed her cash and she snapped that they don’t accept “larger bills,” with the same bad attitude. I switched to another note, but at that point the entire experience was already ruined. Candy stores are supposed to be fun, joyful places for families and kids. Instead, this employee turned it into a humiliating and stressful situation. We walked in excited, and walked out disappointed and upset. I hope management sees this and realizes that the way customers (especially families with little kids) are treated makes all the difference. We will not be coming back unless something changes.

The infamous Dylan’s Candy Bar was more like jail. My friend and I were in The Grove tonight and doing shopping. I have never been into the store and decided to go in and purchase some chocolate. We didn’t get any greeting, but neither did anyone else. That’s the first thing that I noticed which is a lack of professionalism for a business. Next, we noticed the sign that says please pay before eating. Okay, completely understandable. My friend asked the cashier if they gave samples because some of the candy she had never heard of. The girl at the register was nice and said yes you can take a small piece. So she tried a piece of the candy. All of a sudden one of the other workers (some young egg head with dark brown hair) just started to follow my friend around. She actually stepped on the back of my friend’s heel just to show how close she was. She did this for about five minutes and keep in mind, there were plenty of other people in the store and she was not following them. My friend did not have any products in her hand nor any shopping bags to leave this girl took think the unthinkable. I was standing in line to make a purchase but once my friend told me that I threw everything down and we walked out. That is completely unacceptable and for a first time visit, this will definitely be the last. Not that the stores give a damn if this happens to their customers and their customers spread this word of mouth, but they need to train the staff much better to act professional and not to profile people.

I bought the sour cherry coke bottle gummies and found a sharp, small piece of plastic embedded in one of the gummies.

I emailed Dylan's about it, and at first, they were really nice and offered to help me - they offered a gift card which I turned down because I don't plan on ever buying anything from Dylan's again, and they offered me a refund as well.

When they asked me for my info so they could look up my purchases to refund me, they told me I had bought the gummies and also a soda pop and astronaut ice cream from them and they couldn't refund me for those, but only for the gummies.

I told them...I don't remember ever buying a soda pop or astronaut ice cream. In the past several months where I occasionally went into Dylan's, I only went in there to buy gummies. I have zero interest in any of their other products...I only go in there when I have a craving for their gummy candies.

So I told the customer service person, Kenny, about this, and then he just...decided to stop emailing me back and ignore me?

I don't know, the whole situation was really weird to me that they'd just suddenly stop communicating with me, especially since I told them that I think they may have accidentally charged me for something I don't remember buying at all.

If I bought a soda pop and astronaut ice cream from Dylan's, I feel like I'd remember that, especially considering they're saying I supposedly bought these only a couple months ago, and also considering that, like I said, I don't go into Dylan's for anything besides the gummy candies.

So, if they don't wanna refund me, whatever. Enjoy my money, Dylan's. I just wish they didn't get weird and just decide to ignore me. They could've offered to look into why I was charged for items I'd never have any interest in buying there, but I guess they decided to go the route of just ignoring me.

And this person is apparently the Assistant Manager of Customer Care......what?

Bottom line, if you buy gummy candies here, CHECK THEM FOR SHARP PIECES OF PLASTIC. The one in my candy was small, sharp, and it was CLEAR plastic, making it harder to...
