Eeek! Cool ambiance—colorful explosion of interior design—but…unfortunately—that’s all I enjoyed.🙁 To be fair—we came at a slower time of day, but I was hoping for a quality meal. For a $25 quesadilla and two tacos for the same—my expectations were low—I promise! Yet the braised pork tacos and the chicken quesadilla each lacked an important element—flavor! Salt—at least! It was as if each ingredient came out of its packaging and put into taco/quesadilla form without adding anything at all. Did they even grill any of it? Or was it microwaved?? 😅 Braised pork was also quite dry—how?? Portions of quesadilla was good—then again that hardly matters when I don’t enjoy eating it. Drats. Service was scarce—some could call it hands-off. 😜 Totally disappointing experience but perhaps it was just an off day….I may come back for drinks—but doubt it. Oh…and the veggies on the side(lettuce/tomatoes) not even close to fresh! Eeeeek again! Maybe you’ll have a better experience!

The moment we walked into the Farmers Market we were drawn in to El Granjero Cantina by the smell! Our server, Brittany, immediately walked up with a friendly smile recommending things on the menu! The strawberry margarita was a perfect way to cool down from the hot LA sun, and was not only beautiful, but delicious! The chips were homemade and thick, and the salsa was amazing! Even with my husband’s onion allergy, he was able to find something! The food came out quickly! The birria quesadilla tacos were delicious according to my husband), and the BYO quesadillas (I did chicken and guacamole)were maybe the best I’ve had! The atmosphere was lovely, with gorgeous outdoor lighting and bright painted flowers. Being outside but under a cover allowed a perfect breeze to flow through! Overall, an amazing experience!

El Granjero Cantina, located at the Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles, is a vibrant spot offering traditional Mexican cuisine with a contemporary twist. Opened in June 2021 by John Moshay, it has quickly become a favorite for locals and tourists alike. The menu features classic cantina staples like nachos, fried tacos, quesadillas, and a variety of antojitos, all served in a colorful, inviting atmosphere. The restaurant displayed friendly service, the staff's welcoming attitude and the overall aesthetic appeal of the space had a great vibe. I had the fish tacos (spicy cabbage slaw, avocado sauce, radish, tajin) lightly deep battered fried with the Cilantro Rice and beans. If you're looking for a fun, casual dining experience at the Farmers Market, El Granjero Cantina is worth a visit.

I typically don’t rate venues and if or when I do, I try to post positive ratings. I manage a team of people who provide customer service daily and I know all to well how people rarely post the positive. Most people are more inclined to post when they are unhappy. Well unfortunately, that is why I am posting today.

As mentioned, customer service plays a large part of what my team and I provide in my industry so I know how hugely important it is to a business.

A friend and I visited El Granjero’s at the Grove on Friday evening, for a night of cocktails. It was a bit of a change for us and we just wanted something simpler than the places we typically frequent. I arrived around 5:30 pm to meet my friend, just in time for a couple of happy hour cocktails. We were there for about 45 mins or so before another friend of ours, we weren’t sure would show, popped in. I asked a gentleman that worked there, who happened to be a few steps away, if it was okay if we moved one of the empty chairs to our table. He hesitated and said it would be too crowded, before seeing the space, but I respect that. Just to confirm I showed him the actual space and again he said no. I then asked if we could be moved to another table. Again, he hesitated and honestly I don’t remember his exact words but basically we were told no. It was something along the lines of the amount business they were having. I was a bit taken aback because at this time there were plenty of available tables and there were no lines so I almost felt he was denying us additional services. I pointed to an availability table near by and said what about that one he responded with, you can sit there… and pointed to a cornered area with a smaller ledge like table along the fenced area… and with all those available tables. We declined and he seemed completely unbothered by this and the fact that we had someone just standing there and he went on his way.

When a gentleman came by to clearly our table we asked for our check, despite we had just ordered another drink. He was friendly and engaging asked if we were okay. Because of this I asked if he was the manager. He said no but asked if we needed one. At first hesitating, because I just wanted to leave, I said yes. And wouldn’t you know it, the same gentleman that didn’t want to move us showed up. He couldn’t more pleased that he was the one to address our concerns. When I expressed our dissatisfaction with how things were handled, he was just as detached and aloof as the first interaction. He did say he was sorry in and interested sort of way (oh well I’m sorry), and then with no time to waste and a bit of arrogance asked, will that be all.. Eiuro is the name. If you’re going to manage I suggest you take training on customer service Euro. You make this...

Came in to have dinner with a few of us who are visiting from Spain, and I must say this is one of the worst experiences we've had since we landed in America. What started out as a nice experience quickly turned upside down, we are not from here so we had a few questions about different things on the menu as far as allergies and another one being about pricing. Our server acted like they really didn't want to be there, and at one point they didn't have an answer and they said that they would go ask their manager. So she goes over and mentioned something to a blonde lady sitting at a table, I'm not sure if she didn't think we would see it but she immediately rolled her eyes and had such a foul look on her face it made me not even feel comfortable sitting anymore but I didn't want to ruin everyone else's time. So she strolls over with the most cold uninviting demeanor, almost as if she didn't even want to interact with us and answered the questions in a very snarky and aggressive manor. This made the whole experience horrible, your prices are very high compared to other restaurants in the same market you are located in and for the experience to be as unacceptable as it is we could have chose to spend our money somewhere else and not have to put up with this kind of behavior from "management", I'm not sure if it's because we were tourists and not from the country but I will never be back and I urge anyone reading this review to think about spending your money at a more deserving establishment because this restaurant clearly doesn't want people to...

it is a vibrant and lively spot for delicious, authentic Mexican food with a modern twist. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the warm and colorful decor, which sets the tone for a fun and inviting dining experience. The atmosphere is casual yet stylish, making it a perfect spot for anything from a relaxed lunch to a festive dinner with friends.

The menu is full of fresh, flavorful dishes, with everything from classic tacos and burritos to creative plates that showcase the chef’s unique flair. Their tacos are a must-try, with perfectly seasoned fillings and house-made tortillas that are bursting with flavor. The guacamole and chips are the perfect starter, and their margaritas are the ideal complement to any meal—refreshing, flavorful, and expertly mixed.

The service is exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who are always happy to recommend dishes or customize orders based on preferences. The food arrives promptly and is beautifully presented, showing great attention to detail.

The location on 3rd Street is perfect, putting you right in the heart of a lively shopping and dining area. The outdoor seating is a great option if you want to soak up the LA sunshine while enjoying your meal.

Overall, Cantina offers a wonderful dining experience with great food, drinks, and a welcoming vibe. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Los Angeles, this cantina is a fantastic spot to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine with a modern twist. Highly...
