I have been wanting to try this place since it went viral on TikTok & was so excited, however, I was disappointed.
The female cashier at the front in her late 30’s with an olive complexion was so indifferent, she didn’t even greet us or ask me what I wanted. It was such an awkward encounter. I literally just told her the 2 items I wanted to order for my brother & I. She was like this with everyone considering we waited inside the entire time & watched her interact with incoming customers. I usually tip everywhere I go because everyone is trying to make a living but I admit I did not simply because the customer service was not there. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day or if she is always like that but it’s not inviting at all. She was near the sandwich station when one of the cooks brought our sandwiches out & my brother asked her for a bag and she just barely looked over her shoulder & told him, “they’re right there” motioning us to just grab a bag. We didn’t want to grab any of the bags they have near the register in case they had other people’s orders in them so one of the cooks handed us one ultimately. I got better customer service at the little market/liquor store 2 doors down.
The chicken Caesar wrap was extremely delicious (so glad at least it was good) & the interior also is so neat but I wish I could give negative stars for the...
Read moreI’ve heard about this place many times and it’s consistently rated one of the best sandwich places in the greater LA area…Which is why I was so surprised by the low quality of the sandwich. The ingredients were of high quality, but the taste wasn’t there. I had the masterpiece, “a sure bet”, I thought. It tasted as if it had been dipped in a vinegar soup, you could taste nothing else, the bread was soggy, it dripped everywhere. I went with two other people, one whose sandwich was tremendous and of the quality I expected, a chicken Caesar (very good), the other who also had a soggy, bad-tasting tuna sandwich. So either you have some new staff that need additional training, or ggiata is simply a place for very rich sandwiches (too rich for my taste) that take 20 minutes to make even when there’s a short line. Let’s also take the service and the atmosphere - the service was unfriendly and unresponsive, I smiled and asked about their day to which I got a blank stare and “hmph”. And then I sat outside, surrounded by homeless people yelling and looting the nearby trash bins. Someday I hope to come back here and try this place again, but until then, this is a well-earned one star review, average service, bad food, and an unsafe atmosphere. I’ll try a different location and see if...
Read moreI heard about this place online from one of those influencers and looked good, so I went to check it out.
Drove from Woodland Hills to Venice and ordered the Italian sub, only to find out they were out of the seeded baguette, which was what excited me about the video I saw.
The sub was really good on the ciabbata bread but am giving it a 4 for not having the correct bread available, which I'm sure would of made this sub a 5 star with all the right flavors for an Italian sub.
Also, I gave a 4 star because seating frankly sucks! I want to eat my sub as soon as I get it and not have to look for a place to eat. It's cold outside, and the seats outside look dingy and gross like homeless folks have been sleeping on it tbh. I know it's Venice, but the pizza place next door managed to make it work for people to eat inside.
Indoors only has 4 sad looking bar stools with a very narrow wall table staring at a wall.
Being a Jersey boy, I did love all the Jersey tchotchkes, but the display area looked really tired.
Also, a bit on the pricey side almost $40 bucks for what would be 2 half subs if you're a real Jersey guy.
I took a photo of their menu for you to see what...
