Super disappointed! We are from out of state and visit every year with the exception of 2020. We arrived at 7:10PM on Monday August 9th, almost an ENTIRE hour before closing and the host wouldn't seat us. He said the kitchen was already beginning to close. We said, "So, you aren't seating anyone?" He began to tell us that they close at 8 and that like he stated earlier that the kitchen was already closing. So, we then asked to order take-out because we were so close to our hotel just down the boardwalk. Again, he stated the the kitchen was closed. There were open tables and people eating and food was being delivered to other guests. So, we just kind of walked away to find something else and while we were standing there looking up other places on our phone we witnessed the host turn away at least 10 other people. I find this unacceptable and it makes me feel bad because I know the struggle of the service industry being that I am a part of it. He just turned away money for your business and not to mention a hefty tip for whoever would have been our server. My partner owns a beauty spa and I own a bakery. We support our fellow service industry people and it's upsetting that this individual was literally taking money from your business and his team. Shame on him! I will be happy to take down this review if I'm contacted giving a valid reason as to why this person was turning...
Read moreI strongly recommend avoiding this place, there are other places where you can go eat and drink in the boardwalk. As a first time visitor to California, I loved Venice beach, but did not have a good experience at this establishment. The management staff was extremely rude to me. I yelled at a person that I saw passing by (in a nice way to wave him over) and the manager came to kick me out, and that’s fine, I understand where I was yelling in the establishment (nothing profane or bad, just hey! Put the dog down and grab the ball! He had a dog and ball) anyways it’s the way they treated me that really made me feel bad. One employee stood next to me and even asked the manager if he could throw my phone outside because I decided to record the whole thing. I would avoid at all costs, if the owner reads this, please cross train your management team on handling situations better. A simple my dude you can’t yell here, finish your beer, and head out would of been enough, I’m a chill guy, I left, but I did lose my drink that night and I had previously been there and spent money before between ($50-100) that’s the last penny I spend there, they made it seem like my business wasn’t needed or wanted. I’d highly encourage people to avoid this place at all costs, or if you go at least be aware of how...
Read moreWe are So-Cal locals and brought some friends visiting from Canada to the beach. It was cold and windy so we decided to stop for a drink and a snack as the restaurant had a plastic barrier up to protect customers from the elements. We sat next to one of the plastic windows so we could still get the "Venice Beach" vibe.
It's dry January so two of us ordered the zero alcohol Heinekens (thanks for having them on the menu) and the other two, 2 glasses of chardonnay. I was very happy to see a nice "full" glass of wine as usually these tourist generated restaurants are light on their pours. It was a nice house chardonnay which we both enjoyed. We ordered a plate of Chicken Nachos that were delicious and easily fed all 4 of us. They were the best nachos I had ever had and the rest of the table agreed! They were loaded and the chicken was a pulled style and super tender.
Erin was our waitress and she took excellent care of us! I commented to Erin that it was so nice to be able to come to such a touristy spot and have a positive experience with good food and service. I live here so I can tell you how many times that we have taken out of towners to a tourist spot just to feel ripped off. I believe it's super important for restaurants like these to cater to the locals. Great job...
