It's been a hot minute since a Westside spot has tried so desperately do be elite only to come off as unprofessional and rude, but congrats Market. Had dinner, was fine, but the efforts of the dinner employees are completely erased by the unprofessional borderline insulting tone and behavior of the nighttime door person. I'm not sure if it's a shtick or just who this person is, but waiting in line just to be belittled by someone felt surreal. Like a bad 90's club skit. Small group, not drunk or obnoxious, literally just respectfully waiting in line, then this person, literally, pretends to hold a microphone o our faces... literally... and fake interviews us while looking us up and down in an over the top obvious way. Then after a good amount of incoherent hand gestures, shooo's us away. We weren't wearing fanny packs and micky mouse ears, we weren't in shorts or torn clothes, and even if this individual holds ultimate judgement over all appearances and can deny anyone for any reason, there is absolutely no need for his show of it. Public humiliation is petty and weak and should have no place in our world today. No one made a scene, we simply left. But I won't...
Read moreAs you can see on my profile, I don't usually write reviews, but this place deserves a 5-star mention! Went here with a friend on Thursday Oct 3rd around 7.45 pm, didn't have reservations but luckily got seated right away despite the place being busy. We sat at a high-top table near the bar and shared an amazing caesar salad and spicy vodka pasta as starters (I'm a spicy pasta nerd and loved it). I then had the hangar steak (pic), which was awesome. It was cooked perfectly, medium rare, as I requested. It had a really yummy glace sauce that matched the steak flavor. My friend had the spaghetti Bolognese, and she loved it. But the best part was our server, Danielle. She went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. She was from NY and had the perfect balance between, warm and welcoming, attentive to our table and orders, and coolness/politeness. On an extremely rare occasion for me, I tipped her 30%. Not because I am rich, (sadly not), but because she deserved every penny. I can't wait to go back again one day! Highly...
Read moreBeautiful restaurant just a short walk from the beach — perfect for a birthday dinner or date night. The ambience is warm and stylish, and the service was genuinely excellent from start to finish.
We stuck to vegetarian dishes and didn’t try any cocktails. The menu is limited but thoughtfully done. The focaccia was soft and flavorful, a good start. The standout dish was the cabbage with chili oil — likely Asian-inspired, perfectly balanced, and something I’d absolutely order again. The beets were great too.
We tried two pastas: • The vodka pasta was creamy, rich, and delicious, but also very heavy — definitely a dish to share. • The ravioli in cheese sauce came in a smaller portion and was lighter but still tasty.
Overall, a lovely experience — great vibes, attentive service, and quality food. Next time I’d go lighter on the pasta and repeat that amazing cabbage. Reservations recommended, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating...
