Wanted to bring my mom somewhere new to celebrate a late Mother's Day and I stumbled upon Jemma on mighty Yelp. Reservations were easy to get on a Monday night through OpenTable so that was a huge plus. The hostess during our dinner shift was very friendly and even sat us earlier than our actual reservation time.
The ambiance of the restaurant was something that you would want while eating delicious Italian food - cozy, welcoming and unpretentious. Our server, who I believe was named Christopher, was very knowledgable with their whole menu. He offered the house specials but we decided to stick to our plan.
We started our meal with an order of calamari which I would say was pretty delicious even though it was a bit on the more pricey side. Regardless, it was very tasty and crispy! The sauces that come with the plate were also both delectable. This appetizer well with two cocktails we ordered which were the Niki and the Basil Marg. So refreshing with the right amount of alchohol.
Moving on to the mains, we got The Bianco pizza and Orecchiette pasta. The pizza was uniquely flavored and cooked to perfection. Same goes with our choice of pasta which was somewhat spicy and infused with garlic but still ended up being very, very delicious.
We ended our night with a Tiramisu and a cup of hot cappuccino with oat milk. This is a must order after all of those carbs that I will never regret eating.
Thank you to the awesome team of Jemma for delivering a memorable...
Read moreJemma Hollywood is somewhat new to Hollywood, but it does have another location. It is great, you will love it. I don't like the $20.00 valet fee, parking on the street is a bear and if you try that mind the signs. So, you can start with a $20.00 fee. No validation. Raise the prices by a dollar to each item and then can validate.
They have dine in, do that, take away, and delivery. They have highchairs and the place is family friendly, although it is also fine dinning.
The service is wonderful. They will see you straight away and check on you, but not bother you. The food comes out pretty fast, your pizza will take a little time because each one is made to order. The place is spotless and really beautiful inside.
Their food is great. They have fantastic pizza and we love their pastas, they also have great starters.
We love their Crispy Provolone as a starter. We had never had it before and it was so good. Their garlic bread is so tender and tasty. The Charred Broccolini is a must try if you like vegetables. It is perfectly cooked and has the best seasoning.
As main course, their Italian beef hero is great. A sandwich is not something I would normally order at a fine dinning place, but we all shared one and we all loved it. If you love pasta you will fall in love with their Cavatelli, which is made with pork sausage, vino bianco, a touch of chili and a tasty broccoli puree. And you must try their while pizza. It is just the best.

Read moreOkay, here we go...Awesome entry because the hostess was warm and welcoming. She took me to a spot and communicated to me along the path. Great atmosphere and my presence was great. The server was phenomenal in all aspects of the journey. She was pleasant, engaging and comforting in this wide open space. We started with cocktails and she forgave my original drink without a question and replaced it with what I really wanted. Okay, enough with the niceties...the Eggplant Parm was awesome. Heat throughout the dish, fresh Eggplant and and awesome flavor. Round two...was a little tricky. I wanted to try the veal and that wasn't going to happen because they ran out...okay, now what? Chicken Parm w/luiguine pasta. No luiguine but, they had spaghetti. Okay, let's see. Well, first she came with her selection of red wine...homerun. Then, bases loaded, tied game and bottom of the ninth...I won't flinch. She comes to the plate, ready to swing and there it is...a grand slam. Beautifully laid out with a creamy based marinara, nice portion of this spaghetti and a great red wine...clearly exceeded my expectations...nice job and I'm coming back for more. Don't discount the fact that I brought the same dish home and my friend lived it...we will be back. Thanks and I wish you the best luck I can offer to a new upstart restaurant...it's not easy and...
