Having seen the beautiful food that Chef Marcel created on Last Chef Standing, visiting his restaurant was on the top of my list. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere is amazing! The rooftop bar and restaurant has a great vibe. It's trendy, upscale, yet Southern California casual. The food was as delectable as we hoped. With vibrant flavor and beautiful plating, we thoroughly enjoyed appetizers, dinner, and dessert. The Spicy Tuna Tartare was good, but not very spicy. The Aster Meatballs were a big hit! For dinner, we ordered the Lemon Pasta, Cacio E Pepe, and Chermoula with Shrimp. They were all wonderful, packed with flavor, and we found ourselves switching plates as we each liked what the other had ordered just a bit more! The Selena Gomez inspired Lemon Sorbet was creatively plated, bright and refreshing. A perfect finishing touch to a fabulous dining experience. We wish we had more room to try other desserts. We were there on a weeknight, so it was not packed, however, the service in both the bar and restaurant were painfully slow, my reason for not giving service and overall experience a 5. This is definitely not the place if you're under time contraints. The bartender and servers were all friendly, kind, and professional, which helped my rating. We found ourselves waiting 30min for pre-dinner cocktails. When seated for our dinner reservation, we waited at least another 20minutes to be greeted and acknowledged by our server. Once we were attended to, from there, service was prompt, friendly, and efficient, until... the end of our meal and our server was no where to be found. There were several servers milling around, but we couldn't seem to get anyone's attention. Finally, one of us got up and approached a small gathering of employees to ask the location of the restrooms and to pay our dinner bill. Again, once it was noted that we needed assistance, service was friendly and prompt. Having worked in food service from fine dining to family style restaurants, I feel there is definitely room for improvement on guest attention. The cool atmosphere, unique menu, and friendly service are all enough to entice us back. We now know to allow for PLENTY of time, or to be more vocal...
Read moreThis is a must go to place. The rooftop is beautiful. The food is delicious. It’s so elegant but yet fine it’s bougie and comfortable very spacious. Courtney. Our waitress was awesome in every way and there was also a server named Jake who was also awesome came by our table just to offer any help as well as and to say Father’s Day to my husband and brother-in-law this was excellent . We mention turn up the outside Music and they did. parking is only $20 under the Aster hotel. You will love this place from the minute you step off the elevator . I will be going back again. such a beautiful place. I want to visit at night. Again thank you to Courtney our server she was never frustrated. Never overwhelmed answered all of our questions gave great recommendations and always checked up on us just enough. I gave her an extra tip because of this other restaurants should follow in lemon grow steps and then Courtney steps instead of making people tip, make them want to by the service. Courtney even saw me pouring my own second or third glass of water. She walked by grabbed the bottle from me and poured my water not necessary, but she went the extra mile great place.
we had delicious, brussels sprouts delicious kale salad, delicious avocado, toast, and chili Achilles. my only slightly negative mention on the chili Achilles way too many chips not enough ingredients and the prime rib they put on it is very small to the side. I feel like it should be sprinkled over the top so there were lots of chips left, but it was very good.
I’m excited to go there again and check out happy hour and their nighttime view. This is a must go to...

Highlights: -Our server Seth was very kind when my mother did not care for the chicken liver and onions, and took it off our check, no problems. The kale salad is salad perfection. The grilled salmon was so beautifully cooked it melted in your mouth.
Things that could’ve been better: The chicken liver and onions on the starters menu should be more accurately described—as a pate (in which case we would not have ordered it). Seth explained before offering to take it back that it was a hit and miss dish and I’m betting it wouldn’t be as often a miss if people knew to expect liver pate. When it comes to a food like chicken liver, the preparation method can be a dealbreaker so let people know up front it’s a pate! Our dessert felt like a baking fail that was passed off as a “deconstructed” dessert. It was crumbled up but very dry chocolate cake with (delicious) ice cream on top. Next time I’d stick with one of their standard dessert offerings instead of trying one of the dessert specials. The lemon pasta: I liked the pasta itself but despite loving curry, wasn’t crazy about the flavor profile of this dish. I’m glad I tried it but wouldn’t order again.
All in all, I loved it and can’t wait to...
