First of all the coffee and the bakery items are good...unfortunately the last 2 times I have been at Michelina the server has been very rude. First time: My friend and I: The petite woman server was standing about 2 feet from myself and this friend at the cash register. The server was chit chatting with another employee... about some personal conversation and looking right at us. She still didn't come ask us if she could help. 2 feet from the cash register. After several minutes... I had to ask if we could get some help and she then decided to help us. My friend thanked me for being the one to have to ask her for help. We were both put off with her behavior. Second time...my husband and I have ordered...we were trying to get seated at your counter... as it was very busy we had to move chairs around. We weren't interested in take home so the cash register person gave us some plates and napkins and utensils. We were just getting settled, waiting for our coffee and bakery item...and the same petite woman server from before is behind us saying very loudly...EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME. She's reaching for our plates as if they weren't ours...I asked what she is doing? We felt she was insinuating that we were trying to steal the plates. It was so weird. We didn't know what was happening. She told me to "Not cop at attitude" when I asked her what she was doing. By the way she didn't clean the counter which she claimed she trying to do. I had to uncomfortably ask her to come clean the coffee rings off the counter after all this rudeness from her. It's too bad one person can cause such...
Read moreThe service at this location is not good. The young sale lady, doesn’t have any manners. She doesn’t even know how to handle pastries. She doesn’t have any clue. Teach them they should wear plastic gloves. Or at least wash her hands, 🙌🏻 or apply sanitizer. This message is to help you, addressing the issue in your business. Customers are very important. You must train your employees with good manners and to provide a good customer service. Other wise you have to closed your business. For me, personally it’s very important that the pastry’s that I buy, will be nicely, carefully, wrapped. That detail will immediately notice, and will be appreciated. The way she, handle my pastry today was, very disappointed. She crushed the pastries when she put them in the paper bag, instead of placing them individually. I had to call, her attention to do the right thing. Instead she was so arrogant. She asked me if I want a small bag. With all my respect. You do not asked the customer you supposed to know. At least you have different options. EXAMPLE: If you buy a slice of pizza and they it to you, on a napkin, you will immediately ask them, why do you do such things. Am I right? Customers are very important. Be nice and polite. Treat customers nicely despite, their skin color, language. Hopefully next time, if I pass by, the will be nice with...
Read moreI didn't know what heaven was until I came to Michelina. Down the Fairfax side of 3rd Street Farmers Market you will find an innocuous little bakery filled with some of the most delicious (both in looks and taste) treats you can find in all of LA! Choosing just one is going to be tough so I suggest going with a friend so you can sample a few. So far I've tired the Salted Caramel Cream Puff (divine), the Chocolate Cream Puff (very tasty but a little heavy) and the Apple and Pear La Pomme (they also had a raspberry version I sampled the other week). I want to talk about La Pomme for a minute though... Made to look like whatever fruit is in the centre, glazed white chocolate, marizipan, hazelnut base... I cannot describe how incredible this particular pastry is!
Michelina is absolutely perfect in every way and I cannot get enough. I am so happy they are walking distance to my apartment so I can visit more often. I am looking forward to coming back and eating some of their...
