I wish you could do negative stars on this App. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. Not to sure what her name is because she refused to give it to me. Every time I come into this restaurant. This woman is always rude for no reason. I have been in here a few times over the last few months and each time their system for credit card is always down. I have even called before going inside and the same story of " it was working earlier but doesn't work now" always comes up. But it’s really not; they just want to be cash only without saying it. That’s fine but don’t try to force people to use third party apps with higher pricing to purchase food. If the WiFi works for the iPads to connect to those third party vendors it would work for card. Today the attitude lady started when I asked if the card was working. In comes the eye rolls and weird rude tone. She told me I can order at the kiosk if I want but I decided to dine in. Normally a server takes your order while you’re sitting down offer you water and a chance to enjoy the place. Nope not Little Miss Ray Of Sunshine here. This time she was trying to force me to prepay for my meal eventho I was eating inside. (Just a month or so ago another host helped me and I was able to keep an open tab even when paying cash.)I stated another group didn't prepay and she stated they had another person waiting. That person came and they never had to prepay. Not to sure why each time I come she gives this we don't want you energy but it's disgusting. I was AWAY from her when actually spoke up about my feeling of always being treated badly here or different and her attitude on a call I was having the entire time I was there. I then went to the counter to officially order and pay she told me she didn't feel comfortable serving me I proceeded to ask for the managers name and number. She refused to give the managers name and told me to figure it out. Called the manager 4 times phone number wasn't working. Asked her to provide or confirm the correct number she refused. Continued to give me attitude. She finally agreed to confirm the number and manager I called them. The manager called the store and not me at all. Only found that out because The Queen of Comedy decided to laugh about it. While she continued to throw her weight around as the gatekeeper of Ramen being sarcastic and vile; I told her I began to write this review and was waiting for that callback. The Sultan Of Spice then proceeded to call security on me while I was writing this review and waiting for management to call me back. Security was even surprised due to me being calm when he came in. I told him just finishing up this review and I’m gone. I finished up and She Sent Me The Most Juiciest Air kiss goodbye I caught it put it in my pocket and told her I hope her life gets less miserable. I would Never spend any money here again not worth it. Especially with treatment like this from employees and Michael Scott type of management. Not surprised at all the other bad reviews. This place was amazing now it just reeks of despair.

I had the worst experience at Silverlake Ramen DTLA, and it’s clear that management is allowing blatant scamming to happen here. From the moment we walked in, the woman in charge had a terrible attitude—just straight rude with bad energy. She was dismissive, unhelpful, and seemed irritated from the start. Then came the scamming tactics. First, she claimed their credit card machine was down, forcing us to either pay in cash or use their online ordering system. Conveniently, later on, she suddenly said the machine was working—but now we had to prepay for our order before even being served. I’ve been to multiple Silverlake Ramen locations, and this is NOT a policy at any of them. Then, when my party of six tried to sit together, she refused and made us sit at separate tables. Fine. But when we told her we’d be paying separately, she changed the rules again and insisted we all had to pay under one tab because of yet another so-called “policy” that doesn’t exist anywhere else. When we called her out on all these inconsistencies, she immediately played the victim, claiming we were being “disrespectful” and that she had already been yelled at twice that day. Honestly? Not surprised. When you lie and manipulate customers, of course, people are going to be frustrated. At this point, it was obvious she was making things up as she went, trying to manipulate customers into whatever was most convenient for her. Looking at other reviews, I see this isn’t the first time she’s done this, and I’m beyond disappointed that Silverlake Ramen corporate hasn’t stepped in to stop it. If you’re considering coming to this location—DON’T. There are plenty of great ramen spots in LA that won’t lie to your face, give you attitude, and make up fake policies to scam you out of your money.

If I could give this place negative stars, I absolutely would. This was hands down the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I was so excited to eat here after church, especially since all the other Silverlake Ramen locations have been great. But from the moment we walked in, it was a disaster. We had a party of six, and the hostess told us only three of us could sit at a table—which was bizarre, but we went along with it. This location also requires prepayment, which is fine, but when three of us tried to order on the same ticket, she refused and said we all had to order on the same ticket because she was going to add gratuity. I explained that didn’t make sense since we were being split up and weren’t receiving any real service. That’s when she got rude and told me she wouldn’t serve me because I was “rude”—all because I called her out on her unprofessional behavior. I was having an amazing day, and she completely killed the vibe. Now that I’m reading other reviews, I see I’m not the only one who’s had this exact same experience. Silverlake Ramen, I really hope you read this. By keeping someone like this employed, you’re allowing negative energy to thrive in your space. She’s using your business to spread bad vibes in the community—and that’s not okay.

The treatment my daughter received tonight from this restaurant’s manager tonight, is abhorrent. Here’s what happened:

My daughter went out with friends from her National Mock Trial team. The irony here is that these kids know and understand the law and generally adhere to it. Tonight, my daughter and one of her teammates came in with their team to eat. They had intended to order at Silverlake, but nothing appealed to them. So they went next door to another restaurant and got an order. They came back and sat at a table next to her teacher. The waitress respectfully approached them and told the two girls they had to leave with their food. Their teacher/coach did NOT want her students outside and vulnerable under her watch, but understanding the request told the girls to come sit with her and the other student with her, figuring with them having just paid over $60 getting food, including some churros for the two girls.

Shortly after the supervisor came over, and she told them that they had been told “multiple times” to leave.

Keep in mind, at this point:

  1. there were two paying customers eating (~$60 worth of food), the coach and one other student
  2. the other girl, the one with my daughter, hadn’t even gotten the food out from the other restaurant, intending to eat back at the hotel
  3. the teacher had purchased churros for the two girls, so they HAD food purchased at this establishment

Long story short, my daughter was NOT harming their business. The restaurant was fairly empty. After hearing this the teacher sees that yes, there are signs saying to not bring outside food in: 2 small 4” signs that almost blends into the wall. This is a young girl from out of town, a straight A+ senior student. A GOOD kid.

Was the restaurant in their legal rights. It came be argued yes, and this restaurant took to legalism rather than look at the sum total of the circumstance and choose human decency.

I work in customer service. I know what giving a customer good service looks like. I know that sometimes you break a rule or two to make customers happy… and SAFE.

I called the manager/supervisor and got the same legalistic corporate response. No apology … I’m sure she feels she did “The Right Thing”, and by the strictest of definitions she might have. But as far as customer service goes, this is despicable. It is wrong to turn out paying customers (churros) who are high school students, in a prestigious organization, with a responsible adult, simply because they are eating something else, politely, quietly. This attack on school aged children should be considered next time someone considers eating at this establishment.

I’m sure the food is tolerable. But the heart here is empty. I’d recommend looking for...

Let me preface this review by saying that I've been enjoying Silverlake Ramen since the OG days, before any of the expansions and have never had any issues.

However, the DTLA location is by far one of the worst experiences I've had at any ramen place. I personally believe that consistency is key to any successful restaurant, especially a franchise. This location does not know the meaning of consistency. I always give restaurants a second try after having a bad experience. The DTLA location disappointed both times.

The first time I ordered the Classic Tonkatsu and a couple spicy tuna bowls for friends. The broth was so salty it was actually inedible and had an insane amount of just slimy overcooked spinach. I picked out the noodles and toppings but had to dump the broth, which is one of the things that sets them apart from other ramen places. I was embarrassed by having treated friends to those bowls. All the ingredients looked like they were past their prime. Browned avocado, stale "crispy" onions, wilted greens and fishy tuna.

Despite the horrible first try I thought that perhaps it was one off and decided to give them a second chance. I really wish I hadn't.

This last order was still all wrong. The noodles were solid, like one hard mass of uncooked noodles. The broth did nothing to soften them. The soft boiled egg was overcooked and hard boiled. The pork was dry and chewy instead of tender. There was probably more spinach than noodles, just a large slimy ball. The broth was milky and bland. The chicken karaage was soggy despite eating it within less than 10 minutes of it being made. And finally the tuna bowl was just as disappointing as the first.

No one answers the phone, their voice message just directs you to order online, making it impossible to try and get any time of customer service/remade food. Online ordering platforms don't to much to help either.

I've just never had such bad quality ramen from Silverlake before. I've been to the LBX location and partroned the OG location way before any of the new locations. I'm disappointed in the horrible quality despite the rising prices and terrible location. Never coming back to the...
