Myself and my friends purchased tickets for brunch today in Los Angeles. We purchased the 1:30-3:00pm slot and the venue was located at 6356 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028. Total price was $201.00.
We arrived promptly at 1:30pm and were advised to stand in line. After inquiring we were informed that they were backed up. We waited 30 minutes before we were escorted in. Once inside we were seated in a hot and cramped area near the bar. We were given crossword puzzles and had to wait an additional 30min. After that time had passed and no server had come to bring water or check in with us, we approached and asked if we could move. One of my friends began feeling faint from the lack of air. We moved to another section.
The tables were left in disarray. It looks like previous parties had came and gone but no one had cleaned up after them. There were 2 empty tables and a coach like seats. We sat down and cleaned our own dirty tables. We looked across the room and another table had dirty dishes and glasses. It stayed that way for about 20 min. After 20 min had passed we flagged someone down for water. By this time it was about 2:45pm. We had not received the âwelcome mimosaâ or water. No server had come to us to take our order.
Finally our orders were taken and we received our mimosas. As can be seen in the pictures attached, they arrived in what code only be assumed as dirty glasses. We each sipped a little and were dismayed. They tasted like chalky dish water. No one in our party drank their drinks. Our food came and another problem.
We ordered 3 burgers, tater tots, and the chicken strips. One of the burgers was raw. Toasted on each side but a raw patty. Each burger had a thick piece of bacon that was mostly fat. The tater tots were overcooked. The raw burger was inedible. We finished and my friend went to ask to speak with management. The server ignored her. She was standing next to the bar for 15min. Apart from the various issues. The event was not as advertised. The menus were one page and when asked the server said they were out of everything but the burger and chicken strips. There was no emo music playing. A weird mix of rock with Sia randomly thrown in. The servers were non existent. No one should have to wait an hour in a room with poor ventilation without water.
I attended the 2022 emo brunch held in the same location. You cannot even compare the...

Iâve loved ROCK OF AGES ever since I saw it on Broadway ten years ago. I didnât think it was possible for the show to get better, but this new, immersive versionâat its own bar in Hollywoodâis!
First of all, the cast is stellar. Every cast member is a triple threat, and their acting ability makes the over-the-top story line come alive, while their singing and dancingâoften in the âaislesââkeep all of your senses engaged. I donât want to play favorites, but I do think this cast is better than the one I saw in NY (just saying...), especially Sherri and Drew.
If youâve already seen the Broadway or Pantages production, youâll still find new things to enjoy. The staging is so much more intimate and vibrant than the larger production was, making it feel totally new. Also, the show has been updated with new pop culture referencesâeven tweaking its own cash-cow nose!âbut the incredible âmeta-nessâ of a show about a Hollywood bar that takes place in a Hollywood bar, is brilliant.
Finally, the Bourbon Room itself is not to be forgotten. The great, loungey, second-floor space is a chill place to hang whether or not you are attending the show.
ROA is a fun night out for friends, couples, and a fantastic place to bring out-of-town guests. Itâs a theatre experience unlike anything Iâve seen before. Keep your hands and feet in the car at all times kids, because this show is...
