I have been visiting Theia since their very first location on 3rd Street, and I’ve continued to enjoy their new Melrose location as well. As a frequent guest, I can confidently say this restaurant has something for everyone—whether you’re drawn to great music, outstanding food, a unique and stylish atmosphere, innovative cocktails, or warm hospitality that goes beyond the usual LA dining experience, Theia delivers on all fronts.
Food The menu is both diverse and authentic, reflecting true Greek and Mediterranean flavors. Whether you’re a steak enthusiast, craving a classic burger, prefer lighter options like fresh salads, or want to experience traditional Mediterranean dishes, the menu offers something to satisfy every palate. Portion sizes are flexible—whether you’re in the mood for a hearty meal or just a small bite. The staff is also very accommodating with special requests or modifications, always responding with friendliness and professionalism.
Music & Atmosphere Theia sets itself apart with world-class DJs, spinning everything from timeless classics to today’s hottest tracks. Every time I visit, I feel transported—despite being in Los Angeles, the combination of music, lighting, and overall ambiance creates the feeling of being on vacation in another country. The vibe is truly the restaurant’s biggest differentiator: vibrant, immersive, and ever-changing with new entertainment and themes each week.
Hospitality What makes Theia exceptional is the people. I’ve dined at nearly every high-end restaurant across Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and LA, but the hospitality at Theia is truly in a league of its own. Here, you are not just another table or transaction—you are genuinely treated as a guest. From the front-of-house team to the bartenders, servers, and even the owners and managers, everyone goes above and beyond to ensure your experience is unforgettable. They often greet you by name and make every interaction personable, which is rare in LA’s dining scene.
No matter how busy the night, the staff remains attentive, accommodating, and committed to making your evening exceptional. It feels less like going to a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a family celebration where everyone’s priority is your enjoyment.
Overall Whether it’s for a special occasion like a birthday or graduation, a date night, a casual dinner, or simply drinks with friends, Theia never disappoints. The combination of authentic food, creative drinks, world-class music, captivating atmosphere, and unmatched hospitality creates an experience that is truly unique. Every visit feels like a celebration, and I wholeheartedly recommend Theia as one of LA’s standout dining and nightlife...
Read moreI just visited this establishment and was initially impressed — the venue is beautiful, and the bartenders were outstanding: friendly, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the conduct of one of the managers, Max. During our visit, a group of women arrived who appeared to be familiar with the staff. One of them handed her purse to the bartender to keep behind the bar. One of the women approached me and asked where I was from. I responded, "Here, California," and asked her the same. She replied that she was Armenian. I said, "Awesome, I’m Mexican American." She gave me a look, smiled, and walked away — nothing more. Shortly after, Max approached my husband and abruptly asked us to close out our tab, claiming that the bar seating was reserved for guests with dinner reservations. We had been there for two hours, quietly enjoying our drinks, and at no point during that time were we approached or informed of any seating restrictions. His sudden insistence felt targeted and unprofessional. When we asked the bartender to close us out, they appeared genuinely surprised and asked who had told us to leave. Upon hearing it was Max, the bartender seemed confused and apologized on his behalf. His reaction made it clear this was unexpected. Before leaving, I spoke with another manager who had actually been dining near us the entire evening. I asked why we were being asked to leave despite being paying customers. He seemed equally surprised and asked who had instructed us to close out. When Max happened to walk by, I pointed him out, and Max repeated the same justification. I explained how unfair it felt to be asked to leave under the pretense of reservations — especially when it wasn’t our fault if the restaurant had overbooked or failed to manage their seating properly. They denied any overbooking. I don’t know whether this situation was influenced by bias — perhaps due to the earlier interaction with the woman from Max’s group — or if it was simply a matter of poor customer service. But the message was clear: we were not welcome. Whatever the reason, I found Max to be unprofessional, lacking in basic hospitality skills, and dismissive of guests who don't appear to fit the desired aesthetic. Sadly, this experience has left a lasting impression. I will not be returning or recommending this establishment...
Read moreMy husband and I arrived around 9:30 PM for the grand opening. We didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to seat us outside, which was fine at first. However, it was very cold and there were no heaters, but we decided to stay.
We waited about 15 minutes before a server came over and asked if we wanted sparkling or regular water. We told her we were ready to order some cocktails, and she said, "Give me a few seconds, I’ll be right back." Unfortunately, she never returned to take our order.
After waiting another 15 minutes without even taking our drinks order and sitting in the cold the whole time we decided to leave. Sadly, we never got the chance to try anything.
It would be great if they had more staff available, especially on opening night. First impressions are so important, and unfortunately, ours...
