The worst African food Iâve ever tasted. I went to Weaf Restaurant today with my mom and little daughter. The moment we entered and I saw the person to serve us, I got to know I made a wrong decision. How can someone who is not an African prepare local African food. We stood there for a while, then I asked the guy if we were at the right address and he said yes. I asked if he works with any African and he said No. My face dropped off a sudden. My mum said we should just try. I ordered Jollof rice with plantain and fish and my mum ordered Attieke and fish. The guy was fast anyways. Immediately he brought Bof bof for my little girl. I tasted it first and hell No, it was tasteless and not well fried cause he did it too quick. Then he brought our food the Jollof was a disaster. Am a Ghanaian and Ghana is famous for our Jollof. This was just some rice mixed with some tomato sauce. Itâs hard and tasteless. Not to talk of the Attieke the Ivorian famous food. I wasted my $50.30. And to the owner, note that Fufu and soup in Ghana is different from Nigerians Eba with Egusi soup. I came there because I thought you had Ghanaian food called...
Read moreWeaf is so delicious. It is South African food and reminds me a lot of Ethiopian food, which I love. The place is just too cute. It is not large and it can get crowded. I think you can make a reservation and I would do that if I were you. We jut pop in when we are near Melrose.
The place is super clean with a little indoor seating and nice outdoor seating. They also have pick up and delivery. But eat there. The staff is just so very nice.
They don't have a huge menu, just a great one. Their grilled chicken is our favorite and we always get that along with other items for dinner. Their Jollof meal with tomato & spicy rice from Ghana & Nigeria with Chicken or Fish is too spicy for me, but my husband loves it and he loves the fish. They also have Thieb rice which is a must try. It is a traditional Senegales rice. You also might enjoy their Jollof rice which is traditional Ghaneans and Nigerian rice. Add grilled chicken to any rice item and you will have a great meal.
The prices are fair. Order at the...

They didn't even have the decency to send those with the $35 dollar chicken. The chicken was burnt. I wish zi could post a picture of the food. I will never ever ever ever order anything from this establishment. This is not African food. The hotssuce was not even africlcan hot. I wish I could post a picture because I did take one.
