If you're cruising through LA and need a coffee pick-me-up with a side of serious vibes, Established Today is calling your name. This isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s like stepping into your coolest friend’s living room—if your friend happened to be a barista, a vinyl collector, and had excellent taste in literally everything.
Let’s talk coffee first because, obviously, priorities. They brew their beans with the kind of care usually reserved for first dates and expensive wine tastings. Whether you’re into frothy lattes, bold espressos, or some fancy pour-over you pretend to understand, they’ve got you covered. It’s the kind of coffee that makes you pause and go, “Wow, maybe I can conquer today,” even if your to-do list says otherwise.
But hold up—the magic doesn’t stop at the coffee. The soundtrack? Absolute fire. Instead of bland background music you’ve heard a million times, Established Today spins vinyl records all day long. We’re talking everything from toe-tapping classics to deep cuts that make you feel cooler just by being there. You could be sipping your cappuccino to Stevie Wonder one minute and contemplating life over The Beatles the next. It’s like a mini music festival, but with way better drinks and no lines for the bathroom.
The vibe here is so good, you’ll start wondering if you can move in. There are cozy nooks for getting lost in your book, chic tables for pretending to work, and just enough hipster charm to make you feel like you’ve stumbled upon LA’s best-kept secret. Oh, and don’t be surprised if you leave with a sudden urge to buy a record player. It happens to the best of us.
In short, Established Today isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s an experience. Come for the coffee, stay for the vinyl, and leave feeling like you’ve just found your happy place. Plus, how many places can make you feel this cool before...
Read moreGreat looking shop. Okay coffee. However, if you’re going to market yourselves as a spot where people can stop in and listen to vinyl records while they enjoy some coffee, please give people a chance to actually enjoy the records. The store speakers are set quite loud, and the headphones provided at the listening stations are open-backed, meaning any outside noise can bleed into the listening experience. A shame, because they clearly spent a good amount of money on building the stations out and choosing quality record players. Either setting the PA speakers to a lower volume so they don’t intrude on the listening headphones, or providing closed-back headphones for the listening stations would be a solution to this. I’m both a coffee and a vinyl junkie, so this shop called to me, but I had to cut my first visit there short because the details of the experience weren’t as thought-out as i’d hoped. Hopefully someone at the shop see this and addresses...
Read moreIf you're into music, this place is surely for you as they have live DJ performance occasionally and always on loud music playing on the background. The place and the interior were just vibing, especially if you don't mind having it at pretty high volume.
They served pastries from nearby bakery, Ludivine, and Thai Tea as well as Thai Coffee beyond the regular espresso based drinks. There might be bit of line during weekend, but it moved swiftly.
I went for their Almond Croissant which wasn't bad but wouldn't say it's outstanding either. Pretty stuffed with the almond paste, but I knew the town offered so many good options!
Their Thai coffee was tad too sweet for me, who did love my coffee served sweet. It was okay but I would say if I made my way back, it's more the place than the food...
