High Horse Bar — Restaurant in Louisville

Very nice place. Great mix of people. Lots of room to mingle and dance. Big dance floor. The music mix could be alot better. It's great at the beginning of the night, but it seems as though around 1:30am the dj (on Saturday night) starts playing music he wants to hear. It became all techno. Me and my friends love to dance but just couldn't get into the 2 hour techno set. I've Dj'd at toy Tiger, O'Malley's, Jim porters and Phoenix Hill and I've learned there is a fine line between dancing just cause there is music playing and people dancing because of the music playing. Located a little bit off the usual bourbon walk and restaurants in Louisville, we headed to High Horse to finish the evening and attempt to secure the "Soused" badge after already doing some liver damage tonight.

This is definitely a Dive Bar and it wears its label proudly. The scarred tables and slightly grubby floor add to the charm. That said, the men's room was clean. This was a fun time and while it wasn't busy on a Monday evening, the service was good and the few other patrons were similarly laid back.

If you want that old school dive bar feel; the one where you feel you can stay all day and meeting interesting people, spend 2 hours looking at all the weird stuff on the walls that’s been collected over the years, and sit in 6 different areas with 6 different vibes then High Horse is for you.
