Mak's House — Restaurant in Lyons Township

What a great little place. Went here for dinner before a show at the nearby theater. Food came out fast, the servers were all very friendly and helpful. The only slight negative I can really give was the bottle of water we were given was not as cold as we would have liked (but that's minor). I had the Burger Burger, and let me tell you, WOW, what a tasty burger, the seasoning was perfect, the cheeses and onion and dijonnaise all came together perfectly. My wife had the TLC sandwich and she loved every bite. We shared an order of fries which were seasoned fries and they were cooked perfectly, crispy, flavorful and hot and fresh. I was very happy with how fast we got our food, we told them about catching the show so they put a rush on it for us, we wound up having some extra time just to enjoy the atmosphere and relax some.

We will most definitely be back, I will find reasons to swing by to try more and more of their menu!!

Edit 1 week later: Loved this place so much we found another reason to go back. This time we had the loaded fries, the Honkey Tonk burger and the Mak burger. The Mak burger didn't hit as hard as the Burger Burger hit, maybe they were off on the seasoning or the mac and cheese on it muted it some, but still a very tasty burger and the mac and cheese on it was quite tasty. The Honkey Tonk burger was very yummy, big onion ring, great BBQ sauce, very nicely done. The loaded cheese fries were covered in cheese and bacon, maybe next time I'll get some ranch or bbq sauce to go with it.

I didn't mention it last time because we had told them we were in a hurry because of going to the movie, but, man what great speedy service too. Both times we put in our order and the food came fast, hot and cooked perfectly. They work as a team and everyone helps everyone and it works and it's super fast. I've waited longer at McDonalds for food. So if you're looking for great, speedy, kind service as well as really good food, definitely...

We had tried to go elsewhere for lunch... luckily that place was closed and we ended up at Mak's. The place is relaxed with a mixed crowd of people enjoying the chill vibe. We had 5 of us, but they were able to seat us right away. We were seated at a big table in the back across from the kitchen pass. We could see in the kitchen... the staff was constantly moving yet gave off complete calm and under control vibes. Our server was Gwen. She was friendly and patient and offered great suggestions about options. No matter what we needed, Gwen always showed up with a smile to help us have a great dining experience. I had a Pink Drink. It was cold and delicious. We ordered the kids meal first because we knew we needed to "feed the beast." It came out super fast and piping hot- a hamburger and fries sized for a teenager. We also ordered teriyaki and jerk wings, Mak n cheese, a double jerk burger, a sunny side burger and a burger burger. All of the food came out blazing hot, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The wings were juicy and perfectly cooked. The teriyaki was sweet and sticky and finger lickin good. The jerk was a rub that was imbedded into the chicken wings when they were cooked. They were juicy and flavourful. The burgers were big and juicy with wonderfully grilled buns. The Mak n cheese was thick, creamy and cheesy. My favorite thing though... those sweet potato waffle fries. I do not know what they do to them. I really don't care.. as long as they keep doing it. They were soft sweet perfection in the middle with a wonderful crust on the outside. There was a small side dipping sauce sent along with the fries. The sauce was good, too, but those fries... I need them again soon! Three of the 5 of us couldn't even finish our burgers. But I did finish all those fries! We can't wait to go back again. We even made sure to thank the kitchen staff for our great meal. A stroke of fate brought us to our new favorite spot. Highly recommend you...

Everything I ate tasted Frozen the food is definitely not fresh most definitely not the patties as I walked by the kitchen to use the washroom I looked in there and you can see everything is frozen patties french fries you name it it's frozen. prices are ridiculous for as thin as the patties are especially because they're frozen. This is not my first time here but my husband likes the wings and every time the blonde works usually on weekend evenings it takes a very long time to get drinks. My waitresses always have to hunt them down to get my drinks after 20 minutes and I'm not even exaggerating probably more. I don't think she can handle it as a bartender. and quite frankly the last time it wasn't even that busy and I still got my drink about 15 minutes later because she was too busy chatting and running away on the phone. The only thing I can say is my server was great other than that the EDM music that is played there is horrible sometimes the other bartenders have music that's actually good not that EDM drug stuff. I'm definitely not happy my husband can come back if he likes but I won't be back and neither will my kids I can make frozen patties at home. Also what's with the weird guy that walks around to all the tables and interrupts the waitresses micromanaging its quite quite odd if you ask me especially since the problem is with the bartender and not...
