Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory of La Grange, IL — Restaurant in Lyons Township

We were rocking around the outdoor craft fair in LaGrange and stopped in a couple of stores along the way. We wandered in here because my friend wanted to pick up something for their wife. Upon entering I get to see all the wonderful chocolate creations that I really shouldn't be eating. Sometimes walking into a sweet shop as a diabetic can be challenging. Luckily for me I knew I really couldn't get anything because it wouldn't transport well. If I hadn't had such a large breakfast that morning I might have gotten something very small just to munch on while we walked around. We spent a little bit of time chatting with the woman working behind the counter who was very friendly. I have shopped in their stores in past years usually in malls. This location has a bit of old world feel to it with the counters filled with all kinds of wonderful chocolate candies and treats. I do love these types of stores and if it had been earlier in my trip I probably would have gotten something to enjoy...

I had the pleasure of stopping in the store today to pick up some delicious treats. I have been several times in the past and probably should have left a review sooner as each time I have stopped in I have had the most wonderful service. The same woman has waited on me every time and she is incredible. She greets me with a smile, and even when multi-tasking, as other customers enter she always has a pleasant hello. She is knowledgeable, patient and extremely efficient. I have never seen her be short or rude to customers even when feeling the pressure of a long line during the holidays. I've worked retail and know how difficult that can be. I have witnessed numerous customers throwing questions at her while she is waiting on someone else and she fields it all with ease and grace. Love this place, been coming for a long time. Yesterday in my visit I ordered two apples and the young lady with glasses. Mentioned to me “they were no longer cutting apples because they just washed the knife’s” my reply was “well, can you try to cut my apples” Afterwards, overheard the young lady with glasses and other young lady (didn’t see her) say some not so nice things about me because I simply asked for apples to be cut. While to complete my order her mood towards me was attitude and when I was ready to leave I said “have a goodnight” and her reaction was to give me a side eye. This was my first disappointing experience. Not to mention there was a couple behide me who were planning to get apples. I’m sure she gave them...
