The only reason we are giving 4 stars is because our waitress Becca did everything she possibly could to make up for the fact that we waited nearly an hour for our food. Sounded like the tables around us also had the same issue. But several tables that came in after us got their food and were paying by the time we got our food and started eating. She claimed the kitchen staff got a little overloaded on the tickets being rang in and they were running a little shorthanded in there. Understandable, what I dont understand is why wait until its to late to put us customers on a waiy because we waited 45 mins almost to just get seated. I watched our server talk to several tables that looked to not even be hers and explain the situation and seemed like everyone left happy in the end. Great job and what a way to die out a fire thats about to start Becca. You were great and obviously an asset. Glad they have an employee like you. But all in all the food was sub par. Would have been better and more enjoyable had my appetite not gone away. Had the salmon scrambled but I got it omelette style. My food unfortunately was sort of cold on the oursode as if it was sitting there for a while when it was waiting on my husbands food. Thats the expeditors fault. They should have sent food out regardless if it all was done. I was starving. My husband got Beccas recommendation the Nashshville dirty bird and it is now his all time favorite thing to eat. Overall the only reason our experience was as good as it was, was because our waitress kept us smiling and allowed us our angry moment without getting angry at us in fact she was angry for us. We watched her steadily pacing waiting on our food all while she took other food out to tables. She was disappointed every time it wasn't ours and I could see that. One thing to anyone reading this. Watch your servers and where they go and all the people they interact with. It is crazy and overwhelming feeling to think of all they have to remember while being under the stress of making 6 tables happy while they wait impatiently for food they should have got 30 mins ago. I can see team work, but where is management and why arent they helping...
Read moreWe’ve been to several Flying Biscuit locations around Georgia, and we were really hoping the one closest to home would be just as good—but unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience we’ve had.
We were seated and introduced to our server, who took our drink order. About six minutes later, a different woman showed up, said nothing, and just took over. I actually had to ask if she was our new server because she never introduced herself or explained the switch. Not the end of the world, but definitely not a great start.
Once our drinks came, we placed our order. We know the food is made fresh, so we expected a wait—that part wasn’t the issue. The issue was the quality and the response when things went wrong. I ordered my eggs over medium, exactly as listed on the menu. What I got were sunny-side-up eggs flipped face down in the bowl. When I turned them over, the whites were still clear and runny, basically raw. My wife pointed it out to the server, and they offered to fix it, which was appreciated—but instead of expediting the remake, they threw the order in behind everything else. It took 18 minutes—almost to the second—for them to bring out the corrected plate.
By the time my food arrived, my entire family had already finished eating. I ended up sitting there eating in awkward silence while they waited on me to finish a meal that never should’ve come out wrong in the first place, and certainly shouldn’t have taken that long to correct. Completely unacceptable.
And the eggs weren’t the only issue. One of the kid’s pancakes was overcooked to the point it was hard to cut. My wife’s scrambled eggs had multiple chunks of shell in them and were rubbery from being overdone. I only learned our server’s name by looking at the bill at the end, which was still charged at full price despite everything that went wrong—including being served raw eggs.
Most of the food that was prepared correctly tasted good, but the mistakes were glaring and impossible to ignore. The one big win is the atmosphere. Beautiful murals and portraits line the walls, and the ceiling in the main room is absolutely stunning. However, we probably won’t be coming back to...
Read moreI'm only rating the service because I never got my food
Me not getting my food was not The Flying Biscuit's issue and it was 100% my fault. I'm extremely familiar with The Flying Biscuit from my days in Atlanta. The food is decent and most importantly consistent.
On this day, I ordered online for pickup from The Flying Biscuit here in Macon for the first time on my birthday. This was shortly before work and arrived and I see multiple couples sitting outside waiting for someone to take their order. I walk inside and I see even more people waiting on their order. I understood then that if I waited, I would be extremely late for work. If I had known the wait time would have been so extreme, I would have ordered much earlier or waited for another day. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT MY FAULT. Here's my issue... When I noticed the crown, I spoke with the pleasant hostess to let her know that I needed to cancel my order if they haven't started cooking mine because I didn't want to be late for work. She got her manager and she arrived, and I told her again that I need my ordered canceled if they haven't started and I apologized because this was 100% my fault. Why did this manager attempt several times to provoke an argument with me?!?! My food wasn't started yet she's trying to chastise me and giving whatever opinion she had about me cancelling my order that she didn't like! My food was not started and I had to get to work and this lady trying to lecture me and telling me how wrong I am. I had to repeatedly ask her to cancel my order before I demanded that she cancel my order then show me proof that it's cancelled. That lady tried her best to goad me into an argument that I didn't give her the satisfaction of having... On my birthday. I'm just going to keep going to the Flying Biscuit in Atlanta if that's the service I'm getting here...
