Having been a vegetarian all my life, I am not looking to eat highly processed plants that look, bleed and taste like meat. I was pleasantly surprised they had blackbean and beet burgers. The first thing you notice is the cashier. They are a fantastic and enthusiastic salesperson. However, the food is just okay. The blackbean burger patty was quite dry and felt like Morning Star. The sweet heat beet burger was more juicy and pleasant to eat. All their fries are airfried aka baked. The crinkle fries are almost burnt at the crimps to aid in cooking the rest. Maybe normal fries are better for airfrying. Bottom line is that your fries cravings won't go away since these are not fried. The first plant-based burger place is the USP and the reason for 4 stars. I saw their sidewalk sign saying “100% vegan!” And convinced my bf to stop in with me. 1) I LOVE going to a vegan restaurant where I can order anything on the menu and not have to wonder if it’s vegan and 2) THEIR FOOD IS SO GOOD! I ordered the “chicken” sandwich adding tomato and onion on recommendation of the staff member at the counter. I got Slide chips and the Sookie’s Sauce on the side. My bf got the impossible burger and a pour over coffee. I think we each paid about $15, including tips. The employee was so friendly and kind.
