We recently visited Giordano’s in Des Plaines (1510 Market St.) while we were in town for the ISNA Convention (Islamic Society of North America), and we were so glad to find out that this location offers Zabiha Halal options. For anyone attending the convention or visiting the area, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. We ordered a large Chicago-style deep-dish pizza and spaghetti with meatballs. The pizza was everything we hoped for—rich, cheesy, and baked to perfection. It had that authentic Chicago flavor that Giordano’s is famous for, and knowing it was halal made it even better. The spaghetti with meatballs was also a hit: hearty portion, flavorful sauce, and the meatballs were tender and well-seasoned. Both dishes left us full and satisfied. The restaurant itself had a nice, casual vibe, and it’s a good place to relax with family or friends after a long day. The one downside we experienced was the service. You pay before eating (including the tip), which is a little unusual, and after being seated, no one came to check on us during the meal. The food took some time to come out, so it felt slower than expected. While this wasn’t a deal-breaker, it’s something to be aware of. That said, the fact that Giordano’s has halal-friendly options is a huge plus, especially during a big event like ISNA when so many visitors are looking for places they can enjoy a good meal. The food quality definitely makes up for the slower service, and we’d recommend this location to anyone in town looking for authentic Chicago-style deep-dish pizza with halal options. With just a little improvement on service, this place could be a must-stop every time we’re back in Chicago.

I would not even give this place 1 star, should be 0 star or neg star. We drove 40-45mins to go to try this halal place. These people say they are Muslims but cheat other people and Muslims. I saw reviews online which were negative both here on google reviews and on zabihah.com but still wanted to try it. First of all the guy in front was rude, her sister took our order and for 1 deep dish meta lover pizza, large salad and large chicken tenders we were charged $99.98 and she even before I asked threw away the receipt and was giving only credit card receipt so I don't check how she charged me. On asking she told we charge a "PREMIUM" for halal meat used in pizza but it did not make any sense. Deep Dish meat lover was $37.50 for large ( even if premium $5 which she did not tell how much premium) would be $42.50 + for large salad $16.50 and she did not tell chicken tender price and told $16.50 - still total would be $75.50 + tax even if 10% would be $7-8 max bill should have been $80-82. She charged $99.80 and would not show me how or give me a breakdown bill on insisting again and again the brother standing had the audacity to tell me "If you want to eat that is the price or you take refund". I demanded refund and left. Sad these people call themselves Muslims and say serve halal items, with the way they are cheating people I doubt even if they carry real halal meats. Very sad wanted to help and give large tip which I usually do left there and went in regret that we came all the way to be cheated by these so called Muslim owners.

Title: Horrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs! I recently visited Giordqno’s and it was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Food Quality: The pizza was atrocious. The crust was burnt to a crisp, the toppings were sparse and haphazardly thrown on, and the cheese tasted like it had been sitting out for days. I ordered a pepperoni pizza, but there were barely any pepperonis on it. The sauce was bland and watery, making the whole pizza soggy and unappetizing. Service: The service was abysmal. Our server was incredibly rude and seemed annoyed by our presence from the moment we walked in. It took over 30 minutes just to get our food, and another 45 minutes for the pizza to arrive. When we asked about the delay, the guy with the beqrd i think he us the owner he is so rude didn’t even bother to ask if we liked the food. Overall, my visit was an absolute nightmare. I would strongly advise anyone considering eating here to stay far away. There are plenty of other pizza places that offer better food, service, and atmosphere. This place is a complete disaster. Cost: because we orders halal meat it is an obligation to buy a large size pizza ,which sounds like a they took advantage because we eat only halal meat.

So I called this location because I was told they deliver to mt prospect was told by the cashier on Thursday April 3rd at 630 pm that they don't know if they deliver to me. According to my Google, they were 3.8 miles away. I then stated I was told under 5 miles. You can deliver to me. She said that is fine, but it has the order has to be over $50. I then said I never said my order was gonna be less than that. I'm just trying to place an order. And you're giving me a hard time. Can I please talk to your manager? The manager got on the phone. Question me after I told her what was going on and stated while on my Google it states, you're 4.6 miles away. And I stated, I don't know what's with the attitude. I'm just trying to place an order for delivery. The general manager then stated that she is the highest person there. She is a franchise and no one else can take care of me. And if I have a complaint, I can call the schaumburg location or rosemont location they are a corporation. I then told her I wanted to place an order for mostacoli and a pizza. She stated, we don't have mostacolli We only have spaghetti. I was like, okay, actually you're giving me attitude still. So I'm going to just not order from you. And she said, well, you got mad, because I don't have mostaccioli I explained. I'm upset because of the way I'm being talked to and treated as a customer. The general manager then stated that all giordanos are the same. I said well then I should be treated as a customer and she stated if you go to. McDonald's, you may come across a rude employee. I said, well, I'm not placing order with McDonald's. I'm talking to you. The general manager then stated, I have a customer standing in front of me. I've been doing this for 12 years and my cashier is here and I'm doing nothing wrong. I asked her for her name she. Refused to give it.I will never return to this location. I then proceeded to call and talk to the manager at the Schaumburg location. His name was John, when I tell you. It was a completely different experience. It was like night and day. John was very helpful, very informative and excited to have my business and guess what I ordered my pasta and pizza. John from the schaumburg location was very apologetic for the behavior of the des plaines location general manager, which he didn't have to do, but I do appreciate that. When I asked the general manager at des plaines who I can complain to about her behavior and the way that I was treated, she stated that there's nobody else. They are a franchise at that point I disconnected the call. Please somebody from the corporation take care of them and explain to them how customer service should be because it is not that at all. Thank you, John from the Schaumburg location for your fantastic customer service and taking my order and providing me with excellent food. I will continue. To go to...

I start my comments by saying I am a Lou Malnati guy for many reasons.

I came to this location for a 35% off coupon and said, let's try it out the Food, as I had New Year's at my house! I ordered 3 pizzas and 1 deep-dish veggie option. I asked when I could arrive to pick up the pizzas and told them by 745/8 pm as they were leaving for the day. I picked up my Pizza from this location, Des Plaines, and placed it in my oven to stay warm. The veggie option was a spinach and mushroom option; later that night, we realized sausage was in the Pizza around 1030 pm. Much later than the location stated they would open. I called the next day to explain to the site that the mistake was costly as it was our only Veggie option for our guests. The rudeness I experienced is something a high schooler would do, not someone claiming to be the owner/GM/manager. I was talked down to and told I should have called at 11 when we found out that the Pizza was a mistake after I explicitly was told that the location closed at 8 pm. The "owner", a woman who refused to give her name out due to how she spoke to me, decided to hang up on me when I was frustrated with her tone. Then, when I called back to ask why I was hung up, she stated I was on speakerphone to illustrate that I was a joke. All the "owner" had to do was apologize and offer to remake a new pizza, but from the start, she was full of herself and treated me like a child.

The Pizza was horrible. Costco Pizza is better tasting, and regarding customer service, from the first phone call to the pick-up to the last phone call, it was hands down the worst experience I have ever had.

You might want to try Giordano's Pizza, but stay away from this location; the Food is horrible, the customer service is disgusting, and the overall experience you will get if you have a problem is disturbing from a national chain! I am reaching out to cooperate at this same time, and I am sure that with their 3.9 review rating, the "owner" has treated many others with this same disgusting attitude.

Like I said in the beginning, I am a Lou Malnati guy, and now I will go out of my way and pay more for a much better experience any day of the week. That 35% coupon should have been a sign

“I am not supposed to tell you this but WE ARE TOLD TO CHARGE TWICE each ingredient when it’s halal” Before ordering I let the staff know I wanted a halal order and I asked how much the base pizza and toppings would cost. When I was given the total the amount it seemed way off from what I was expecting. When I called them off on it she just started saying “halal costs more” I tried telling her how the math doesn’t add up based on what she said earlier . She then said that MAMAGEMENT tells them to enter the ingredient twice when someone orders a halal pizza. Meaning that each halal topping it’s 7 DOLLARS! But they don’t want you to know that. They don’t even give you a receipt!

What you read about the staff being rude it’s TRUE!! I had a conversation with the manager and she is so ENTITLED and ARROGANT. She said that everywhere you go you would see that people will charge you more just because it’s halal. That’s is absolutely not true! My whole conversation with her was just about how she is supposed to charge more because it’s halal and “trying to explain the bill”……Anyone knows how to add if you tell them you are going to charge them twice the amount upfront!! She didn’t even let me talk and had to ask her multiple times to explain her what I felt. But she went on and on trying to justify their behavior and blaming it on the person that was taking my order initially. There is no transparency with their pricing. THEY WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MUSLIMS. One thing is being a business owner and knowing there is a market for halal food, and the other one is to want to abuse the word halal and take advantage of others. If you are offering a halal product you should at least have a good intention of being supportive of the community, not just to prey on them and use their faith as a means to overcharge.

After reading all the comments about this place, I can’t trust this branch and staff. Stick to a veggie pizza at a different branch and skip the hassle of dealing with...
