This was quite literally the most atrocious, disgusting, poorly ran "place" that I have ever stayed at. The first thing we saw while pulling on the premises could be described as some dirt beds with weeds and who knows what else growing over into the sidewalks and paths, what a way to greet your guests. While we were waiting in line to check in multiple other people in front of us were complaining of cigarette smelling rooms, leaking fridges, lack of towels... long story short they were all right. While we were walking to our room the metal beams connecting the first and second floor are quite literally off the ground by 2-3 inches being held in place by a few bolts. The railing on the staircase was ripped off the hinges and hanging on for dear life by one screw. When we got to our room the manual latch lock was completely ripped off the door rendering it useless. there was a door connecting our room with another room, luckily the lock was on our side because other than that the door was just painted shut. The AC unit looked like it was from 1950 and when we pulled the filter out it was cracked and broken. There were two cigarette burns in the sheets and a stain on the sheets of the other bed that I would not like to be educated on. The furniture throughout the room was cracked, chipped and had white stains on it. The pictures on google show a pool...there isn't a pool in sight unless they expect you to swim in the river behind the building. The workers here seem non existent, and when you do actually find one they act ridiculously rude and seem like they don't know what planet their on. Asked for extra towels cause we were given two for three people and we were simply told us they didn't have any extra towels... what. The breakfast was my favorite part (sarcasm). You get down there to be greeted by a few hostess donuts and yogurts on a shelf, cereal and milk, a waffle maker and a few odds and ends that were left over from the day before. I decided to make myself a waffle and it basically tasted the same as if I went outside and took a bite out of my car tire. A gentleman near me went to change the coffee pot because it had been empty for quite some time and an "employee" dressed in an adidas jumpsuit comes bursting through the door yelling at him saying he isn't allowed to touch that. We did not eat there the second day as we opted for A GAS STATION BREAKFAST over this place. Which was still ten times better. The TV remote stopped working the second day. There were lights flickering around the building that really added to this unique experience. You would be better off just sleeping in your car instead of this place. The only upside would be that there was no bed bugs as far as I know. This is the type of place that you see in horror movies, not in real life. There was a concert in town so the upcharge was absolutely berserk. This was the worst experience I have ever been a part of staying at any place anywhere ever. I took 30 minutes out of my day to write this in an attempt to prepare any poor soul that accidently books a room here. I'm sorry in advance and good luck making it...
Read moreWas traveling from Boca Raton, FL and decided to stop in York, PA for a night of rest. We had chosen this hotel because there was a reasonable fee for our pet, and was on the route of travel. We had got to the hotel and pulled up to check-in. The front desk associate was very nice and got us the room right away (10 AM). We drove around the building and go to our room. When we went into the room the first thing I did was lift the sheet and check for bugs. Sure enough, we found a couple and it smelled awful. Went back to the front desk and told her we needed a different room. She was very nice and gave us three rooms keys to go look at, and we just pick one and bring the rest of the keys back. The first room, a bug in the sheet and stunk. The second room, a bug in sheet and stunk. Finally, the third room did not have a bug in the bed but there was still come stench in the room. I returned the rest of the keys and went back into the hotel room until about 1 AM the next morning. We then got on the road and realized I forgot my sunglasses in the room. We called about 2 AM to have someone go check and they never returned our call and repeated the same process about 4 times. On the fifth time when I called they finally told me they had the sunglasses at the front desk. I then politely asked them if they could ship them to Vermont because that's where I was on vacation for two weeks. They would not ship my glasses at all. Two weeks later I had to drive back through York and stop to get my glasses. There was only one front desk agent I dealt with and she was great at accommodating us. Everyone else was zero help to me. The building needs some serious work and cleaning done. I would not recommend...
Read moreI've stayed at this motel a few times before with no issue. However, this time, the room was not ready despite my arrival at 6:30 PM. No explanation was given. Not only that, the lady at the front desk was quite rude.
When I was checking in, she asked if I smoked. I tried explaining I didn't need too since I thought she was trying to up sell me a room. Her immediate response was, "It's a simple yes or no question." Again, no explanation as to why this information was relevant. I said "yes," despite booking a non-smoking room. I tried to say that it was fine if I was in a non-smoking room, and her abrupt response was, "I don't care. They're not ready." Only then was it made clear that housekeeping didn't have any rooms ready. I offered to leave and come back, which she said was fine. When I returned, only then did she apologise for not having a room ready; she still didn't tell me if I was put in a smoking or non-smoking room.
I can tolerate a lot of things when it comes to motel stay given the low price and low rating. However, staff being rude without anything to warrant that reaction is not one of them. I hadn't raised my voice, swore, or insulted her, yet she was still quite rude and unprofessional. I would be willing to let this go had it not been for the numerous Google reviews complaining about the same lady wearing the blue face mask. She seems to have a pattern of being rude to guests. Regardless of her personal reasons, maybe don't stick her at the front desk. And maybe explain that she shouldn't take her frustrations out on the paying customers. It wasn't my fault housekeeping didn't prepare the...
