MainStay Suites North - Central York — Hotel in Manchester Township

From the outside everything is well maintained and ample parking is available. Upon arrival to the front desk and providing my name I kindly asked if it was possible to upgrade to a 1 King 1 Bedroom suite as I am a Choice Rewards member and this was a special time for my significant other and I to meet up and him to visit my town. I was told there were none of those rooms available…I said okay no worries, grabbed my belongings and went up to our room where I then looked on my app and the 1 king 1 bedroom rooms were still available to be booked. I had been lied to, all the staff member needed to say was sorry I am not able to do a free upgrade but if you would like I can upgrade you for an extra charge. I shrugged it off and thought things would be fine… I was wrong…In our room the AC unit was not able to have “constant fan” setting turned on. Manager miscommunicated to front desk staff saying he was able to switch a setting so I could manually operate the unit… once he came to my room he said there is nothing I can do, he presented me with no other options and left dismissively. Lateral surfaces in room were extremely dusty (lamps, behind tv, pictures etc.) bugs (dead and alive) in windowsill, AC unit filters dusty, kitchen cabinet door broken, microwave non operational, food splatter in kitchen, smudges all over fridge, dishwasher, and room door, dishes dirty, bathroom wasn’t cleaned very well (smudges around toilet on floor). Looking back I should have immediately gone downstairs after discovering all the problems in our room, but by that time we had already unpacked our things… we just kept finding one thing after another but we were exhausted...

We stayed here for just over a month while we did a major home renovation, and honestly we couldn't be more pleased with our stay! 2 adults, 1 autistic child in a 2 queen suite with sofa bed, with a small kitchen and we were very comfortable. We're used to Orlando condos on vacation, or on property at Disney and Universal and the staff here, namely Fran in housekeeping, and the absolute treasure Victoria at the front desk were amazing. Fran showed up around 7pm one evening after a very long busy weekend, and she cleaned thoroughly, efficiently, and so sweetly she even tucked our son into bed with the sweetness of a family member! This hotel is nearly spotless, it's rare anytime of the day or night to leave your room and NOT find someone cleaning something! They steam clean the carpets regularly! Mousekeeping level 💯 Disney would be impressed! I used to work for them so I know the level they expect. Breakfast is really good, and it's kept fresh, clean, and stocked! Book here, you'll be comfortable and pleased. Kitchen consists of dishes, cookware, 2 burners, full size fridge, and a microwave. The entire approximately 5 weeks we had ONE issue with noisy neighbors and the staff dealt...

Ive stayed at this hotel several times becasue its pretty nice..one of the better ones in the area..The worst part of staying here is the female Jamaican clerk!..SHES HORRIBLE. has a nasty attitude, and not friendly at all!! She wouldnt lift a finger to get you an extra wash cloth!..She shouldn't be allowed to work with customers.maybe she'll be more nicer at a petty Zoo.. The last time we stayed, the phones in the room didn't work, Their TV service was not working, some rooms have netflix and some dont..For one TV you need 2 remotes.. I will be making a formal complaint about the receptionist ..we actually got into an argument over the TV service!! ..However the other receptionist, a young lady who obviously knows how to treat customers helped me herself when the TV problems began when we first checked in .She was welcoming, friendly, had a great smile and goes above and beyond shes a sweetheart and very customer service friendly... However the next day when we had Tv problems AGAIN..the receptionist from HELL act liked she could care less! This will be my last time...
