Harpoon — Restaurant in Manchester

My wife and I visited on a Wednesday evening around 6PM. We had a beer at the bar while we waited for our friends to arrive and grab a table. Its all about the beer and the beer is excellent. They have a really nice selection and are offering new brews from recent brewery mergers. The Greater Good Pulp Daddy is awesome. Once seated, our server was friendly and attentive. The food was great, I had the fish sandwich with fries. It was excellent. Constructive comment: The ambient noise is really loud. They need to work on some acoustic treatments. The place was about 25% of capacity and its difficult to hold a conversation with anyone at the table. It will be really nice when the outside seating is completed. I used to live in the seaport right near harpoon so it’s semi nostalgic for me not really but the idea. Anyways 20 of us showed up( Adults & kids)we called a head a few days before but still the staff was awesome we had to spend a minimum of $600 which was easy. We did think we would get are own room which they have. But regardless it worked out great. They were also having a wedding or rehearsal that afternoon there. Four of us went and sat at the bar on a Sunday. Was pretty empty. Had Jon as our bartender. He was GREAT. Personable, funny, recommended great stuff to eat/drink, and even got us extra mustard without us asking (the mustard is so damn good). Plenty of beer choices. The food was excellent. We had a steak queso dip, fried pickles and a pretzel. All great. Got a buff chicken sandwich and it was huge and dang good. Had to take most of it home.
