Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Manhattan

Absolutely horrible service. Parked in the stall, read the menu and decided what I wanted to order, then pushed the red button. Screen said 'button activated, we will be with you in a moment'. So I waited......And Waited....... And waited. So I pushed the button again... And waited, and waited. Still says they will be with me in a moment. Then I hear them taking orders from other cars that got there after me. So I honk my horn. Still nothing. I press the button again and honk my horn again. I had been waiting for 15 minutes by then.

Finally one of the 'hops' that had delivered another order comes over "Were you trying to order from this speaker?". Of course. Why else would I have pulled in there. Just to sit there basking in the 100 degree temperatures?

"That button is broken". I told him if it doesn't work, they should put up a sign. Response "Yeah". Seriously that's it????!!!! They knew the speaker there doesn't work. They not only don't put up a sign. They also saw me pull in and didn't bother telling me before I ordered. They could see me through the windows, parked there. Several carhops walked by and saw me there in the stall they knew was broken.

If I weren't already starving, and If I hadn't already spent the money on the gift card, I would have left and never gone there again. But I was starving and had already spent the money on the gift card. So I went to the other stall and ordered. I complained that I'd already waited 15 minutes at the other stall. "Okay we'll rush that out to you as soon as we can". Not even a single "sorry" from anyone the entire time. Just "Yeah" and "Okay".

I will use the last of the money on this card, and then I will never vist this hole again.

Edit, I now see that several recent reviews show this place has gone to hell. Including one from earlier today with the EXACT SAME PROBLEM I had. Still too dumb to put up a sign at least.

Follow up from corporate. They offered me a free drink, IF and only IF I download their app. Howabout I just never go to any sonic ever again. That sounds like a...

I went through the drive thru and ordered an Arnold Palmer with unsweet iced tea. I got to the window and the manager said "you ordered 1/3 of sweet tea, 1/3 of unsweetened tea, 1/3 of lemonade?" I said "no I ordered an Arnold Palmer half unsweet tea and half lemonade" she apologized and took my money. I watched her not say anything to anyone to correct my order and then pick up the drink that was already made before I corrected her and gave it to me. I knew it was going to be wrong but I took a drink just in case and it was so sweet I could barely drink it. I pulled into one of the stalls and told the guy what happened. I believe his name was Sam and he was very nice and friendly and apologized and made new drink no charge and brought it to me. I appreciate his efforts and apology to make things right. The taller women (who I'm assuming might be the manager or at least a lead on shift) with dirty blonde hair on the other hand needs to learn to be honest and have some integrity and own up and fix mistakes instead of trying to cover them up and hope that the customer doesn't notice. HORRIBLE....ordered chicken strip dinner, wings and a hamburger. We were in the drive through so long that the girl working the drive through window was able to serve 5 other cars behind us by walking out the side door and taking them their food. I then asked her what was taking our order so long and she was rude about it. We finally got our food, the chicken strip dinner had tater tots...I ordered fries. Asked for the fries and they were stale. Got back to work and the lady who ordered the hamburger said hers was wrong...however it was supposed to be just a hamburger and she was given a double bacon cheeseburger. So sorry to the person who ordered a double bacon cheese burger and only got a hamburger. I wonder when someone in management is going to see these negative posts and do something about the negative service and the bad food. And the lady who got the wings just told me that they were chewy and she could not...
