I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fridas The True Mexican Taste, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The restaurant, which started as a food truck and has now expanded into a full-fledged establishment, has truly elevated Mexican cuisine in Manhattan, KS.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The staff at Fridas is not only hardworking but also incredibly kind, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. They went out of their way to ensure that every customer felt welcome and attended to.
Now, let's talk about the food—it's absolutely outstanding! The flavors at Fridas are an explosion of authentic Mexican taste. Every dish I tried was bursting with fresh ingredients and made with great attention to detail. From their mouthwatering tacos to their flavorful enchiladas, every bite left me craving more.
The expansion from a food truck to a full restaurant is a testament to the success and popularity of Fridas The True Mexican Taste. I couldn't be more excited for them! This new space allows for a more comfortable dining experience, while still maintaining the lively and vibrant atmosphere that I've come to associate with Fridas.
Whether you're a longtime fan of their food truck or a newcomer to the restaurant, Fridas is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Mexican cuisine in Manhattan. Don't miss the opportunity to support this hardworking team and indulge in their truly delicious dishes.

Read moreUpdate: quality is taking a hit at the new location. While the original taco truck items are still amazing, the new menu is huge and it seems to completely lack any quality control. We got the aztec soup which according to the menu contained chicken but when we got it didn't have any chicken. The owners claimed the mistake was on the menu. That is a real expensive vegetarian soup. I also feel like they should have offered to give us another item but all they did was apologize. The fajitas were a bit bland. It seems like they added way too many items to their menu too fast. It is hard to have quality control over so many menu items. It doesn't seem like things that go out are tested. I realize that they just opened and are trying to get their flow but I hope they see this and get back to their roots of amazing quality control and I hope to raise this review back to 5 stars in the future. Manhattan has a ton of run of the mill mexican restaurants with huge menus. What manhattan needs is Fridas that doesn't lose its taco truck roots. Hoping to try more Fridas in the future and seeing improvement. Please do less items but make them great instead of a bunch of mediocre items.
Wow. The best taco truck I ever tried. The attention to every detail when it comes to flavor is outstanding. The steak burrito had fried onions and even the tortilla was amazing. Guacamole...
Read moreI'm honestly not entirely sure what the ravings are about this place. It was acceptable, and by no means "bad" but it wasn't the best Mexican in the area either. The refried beans were bland and soupy. They basically weren't what I would consider edible. Same with the guac - just bland with no seasoning/flavor. The entree items we ordered were good but the sides just fell flat.
Probably won't give this place another try honestly, simply because there are a lot of other Mexican food options in the area.
Don't anticipate eating at the food truck. It's a take it and go type of truck. There's one table with 3 folding chairs which always seems to have someone sitting there when we drive by. So just anticipate that you won't be eating there. This isn't a knock against the truck - I've just seen a number of people in different review groups complain. It's a food truck so it's not really set up to eat there.
Edit to add a response to the business owner: As mentioned above, the comment about seating was not a knock against the shop. That's not why I rated the shop what I did and it didn't impact the start rating. I only mentioned seating because I've seen people complain about seating on other online groups and I was making a note of it. It's a food truck, we don't personally expect there to...
