GameStop — Local services in Manhattan

On Thursday, March 6th my friend went to this store to ask when prismatic evolution would be available. He was told they would be there Saturday, saying it will not be there Friday the 7th as usual. So, Saturday morning around 7 we waited outside, it was just us and one other guy who was getting a box to open with his son. It seemed odd it was just us, but we had just asked for the drop details 2 days ago, so we assumed people just didn't think it was today considering we asked the store, and triple confirmed it was prismatic.

I don't generally post reviews this low, but when the guy who told us the drop would be Saturday showed up to open the store Saturday morning, his comment was "sorry to break y'all's hearts but there's no pokémon today". He then continued to say essentially we are stupid for not checking their social media or website, and for sitting outside when almost no one else is. He stated he just got this information on monday and tried to get it out quickly... we asked him on thursday.

I understand human error, but there was no sign posted even though he had told some people the wrong day, knowing they would trust his word, and we didn't get compensation in any way, shape, or form. I'd be less upset if he had at least made an effort to make things right, but instead he lectured us on not checking their social media and told us the next new couple drop dates, but kept switching the dates he was saying. Had what i wanted and offer some advice and products to keep my nintendo switch protected. Like going here because the employees actually have good tastes in games and know what they are talking. Better than dealing with a locked cage in other big chain department stores. A lot of extra goodies for sale and used game at a lower cost than new. They also have good selections of gsmes that can be hard to find in other stores as well. They offer system warranties/protection. Store is a bit cluttered but has games for all consoles such as the 2ds, wii components, headsets, toys, and accesories. Best place to shop for any current gen and last gen consoles. I've had so many unwelcoming experiences and have witnessed a fair amount of employee behavior that could best described as maliciously aloof. I often get the vibe that GameStop itself is a super-secret money laundering operation that quit caring from its inception. Probably not though.
