TL;DR: Great place to get food from, and I'll personally be going back.
Ok, so this is a Bar and grill first and foremost, so expect a lot of conversations . Now onwards to the full review.
Initial seating was great, as per they got us to a seat fast. It wasn't that busy yet.
The waitress, named Tracy, had come to be our server, and she had a nice personality. When asking of coke or Pepsi, she responded Pepsi. I'm a Pepsi person, so that was fine. Asked for a cherry one, but they didn't have it. She gave a different option, of putting pomegranate flavoring/grenadine in the original Pepsi, and I said yes to try it. Best option to go for imho. She also was very attentive to us, even as it got busier and she had to juggle far more people. She refilled the glasses when noticing of them getting low, without a need for us to say anything.
The time of ordering: as per it not being busy at that moment, we were able to get our food quickly.
The appetizers: my fiancee got a chicken and wild rice soup, and we shared a Bavarian pretzel with queso. The queso was good, but not epic. I couldn't take a pic of his soup, because he wolfed it down. He loved the soup. The pretzel at least has an image, as well as the rest of the food.
The main course:
My fiancée: he had ordered an Alfredo salad with extra chicken. He said it was good, which is about the best I can get from him(he can't do descriptions).
Me: I ordered the American Burger, taking off the onion straws and pickle, and adding bacon. I got it well done, and mention of the bacon being extra crispy, because fat and gristle do not agree with me. It makes me gag instantly. They were very accommodating for it, too. It was served with kettle chips. Even though the burger was well done, it was still very juicy, and it practically melted in my mouth. That cook should be proud of that feat.
Amount: our bill came out to about 60$ before a tip, which, since this is a sit down bar and grill, is expected. We gave over 20% for a tip because the server was very attentive, and for...
Read moreMy Jambalaya was ok. His spicy chicken sandwich was disappointing. You can get a better one at popeyes, no joke. The waffle fries were really bad. They tasted like they were made in old oil, came "warm" as if they had been sitting around a bit, and they had no seasoning. not even salt. I asked for the sauce (I'm assuming this was a double upgrade price, one for the fries and the other for the "seasoned sour cream") which came after a medium wait and was just as disappointing as the fries. Neither had any flavor. the sour cream tasted like it had no seasoning added. I mixed it with ketchup which helped but didn't fix the issue.
The only worse waffle fries I've had were freezer burnt.
I had to ask twice for a soda refill which was important to note because my food was a little spicy. His sandwich though, not spicy at all.
The ambiance was all sports. There was a game playing on the tv which was piped thru the speakers. Half our time there was spent listening to commercials.
I have no idea why it was packed there. The food was mediocre at best.
We have a new catch phrase now though. "it was better than the waffle fries." when comparing meal catastrophes.
I have no desire to give them...
Read moreI’ve been to Malones numerous times and last nights experience was the worst. My group and I were waiting for a table that we were told would be 30 minutes. After 40 mins of waiting, we asked if our name was still on the waitlist and they told us we would be seated next. When we first arrived, the waiting area was empty. At this point, it was full of at least 4-6 other groups. Every single person that came in after us got seated almost immediately while we sat there with no updates on the status of our table from the hosts. After waiting for another 15 minutes and watching the waiting area literally empty in front us, we asked again for a status update and the hosts were just absolutely rude. We ended up leaving because they still had no table for us even after waiting for an hour, and they didn’t even ask us if our group would have been okay split up at two tables. When they called out the name for a different group waiting, a friend in my group thought they were calling us, so he stood up and the host immediately put her hand up and said very sternly and rudely “IT’S NOT YOU.” The worst night at malones and we had a few first...
