On Saturday, August 14, 2021. I visited Applebee's with a larger group for a birthday celebration. When I arrived about 1:30 with my two cousins we had to sit in a booth. My two cousins ordered the 2 for $22 I ordered solo. We agreed to share the spinach dip. When it was brought out it was half full. I realize it's never full to the brim (so to speak) How I wish I would have taken a picture. So we requested another spinach dip. Not the full order just the dip. Our server brought a full order to include the chips. We told her that we only wanted the spinach dip. So she took the chips away and left the dip. The second dip was a regular normal size it was topped with cheese and the portion size was a regular and this been served first their would not have been a need to order another. Also the first one was burnt around the sides.
The waitress told us we would not be charged she agreed with us that is was not served properly and it was not their standard amount. Jasmine the manager was extremely rude, she lacked everything a manager should possess in order to be an effective leader especially in a customer service business. Jasmine the manager agreed to take off $2 from the bill. She was so incredibly rude I can't express that enough. I explained to Jasmine that the first dip was simply not served properly that proper portion was not measured it was burnt around the sides. She said, "that could not be true they use a measuring cup blah....blah.... She was awful!
The waitress brings out the bills and my bill was incorrect; old nasty Jasmine cashed me out twice for the dip and not for my burger and fries. I immediately made the waitress aware so I could pay my proper fare.
We were not trying to get over with the dip. I guess they scrapped the bottom and heated it up and served us. But, we were not served properly or treated professionally.
Also, when you consider the fact that my 2 cousins were due 2 desserts that they both passed on. That's all the more reason Jasmine should have not charge for the first dip.
We all have a strong skill set - Customer Service is not for Jasmine it's her weak point.

Read moreIf I could give this negative stars I would. Walked in at 2 for lunch. The floor had maybe 10 tables, tops, sat at the time. No host at host stand so we waited, and waited....and waited while not only did 4 employees meet eyes with us but also the general manager. Ten minutes to by and an employee finally comes to the stand to inform us that he has notified the host that someone was waiting to be sat (I've worked at applebees, in a way slower, less populated area. I know that anyone is allowed to seat tables and notify the server.) No host ever appears but after the manger seeing us up there 5 times he finally approached, no one ever said welcome to applebees or anything of the greeting sort. He then told us it would be another 10 minute wait which then prompted us to discuss leaving. After he saw that, he sat us. Sever came to table to collect orders for drinks and we ordered waters, notifying him that we would be ordering bar drinks after looking at the menu. After about 10 minutes go by he comes back for our order, no waters in hand. A few more minutes go by after ordering and our server comes out from the back, no waters and the bartender has now delivered our drinks as they had been sitting for a while. We get our food finally and still no waters. 10-15 minutes go by and our server passes by a few more times without checking on our meal (we were waiting to ask for needed items to enjoy the meal) finally he stands by a doorway looking through the menu to order food for himself. I approach him asking for our waters and the other needed items and another server steps in and asks what he needs as he doesn't acknowledge us. In that I asked for a bbq sauce for each of our meals. the other server brings one out and upon requesting a second one she says she will just split the cup into two. I then said never mind as that is not what she asked for and she then snapped "that's right, you can share" with a snarl on her face. . All in all I have had better service from McDonald's in the worst ghettos. Corporate needs to make their way in to fix this as the restaurant is a hot spot for Redskins stadium traffic...

The waitress seemed to be struggling to get through her day which can happen to anyone-by professionals never let you see them sweat. She wasn't very attentive and seem to be struggling with some agony dealing with her job. My one time and probably last time experience there, so take this accurate and & sincerely intended account of my one-time experience, what's the possibility that this is a one-off day for them. I had the chicken quesadilla appetizer for a meal and ate about 2/3 of it. It was okay. It took almost 15 minutes before the waitress got to the table. Talk about another 20 minutes before we got food, and they weren't that busy, hardly busy at all. Ben had to waive the waitress down to get a to-go box and get my check. That said, she was prompt at returning with the to-go box and my check and then back again with my credit card. Increasingly we hear on the news what happens when you handle waiter or waitress your credit card. In Houston at a Chinese restaurant, Fairly upscale actually, I paid with an Amex Platinum Card and before I got 2 miles on my way home, got a phone call from American Express asked me if I was attempting to purchase a 25,000 diamond necklace at the jewelry store next directly next door to the restaurant. It was on the news here in Maryland yesterday, a young lady used a customer's credit card to pay some rather low-level traffic fines, her traffic fines, the customer ID the woman who served him at the drive-thru restaurant at a Chick-fil-A, and so now she has bigger problems that if she still had the unpaid traffic fines. It's been 4 hours since I was at Applebee's and so far no problems where's my credit card and hopefully there never will be.
