Title: Disappointing experience at MI Rancho Restaurant 19725 - A Germanton Rd MD.20874
I recently visited this restaurant hoping to enjoy a good meal, but the experience was totally disappointing.
Blatant discrimination: The most disturbing thing was feeling sorted out because of my social status or race. While the tables next to us, occupied by American customers, were offered much more friendly and relaxed treatment, we were rushed. This attitude is unacceptable and deeply disrespectful.
Poor customer service: Service was cold, rushed, and unprofessional. Instead of making customers feel welcome, it seems the goal is to sort and rush them based on personal prejudices. The service was unprofessional and left a lot to be desired. Clearly, customer satisfaction is not the priority.
Questionable financial practices: When paying the bill (Order #9183, Table 27), I was charged the full amount, including tip, to my credit card. However, the staff insisted that I had to pay the tip again in cash, arguing that what was reflected on the bill was just a record and would not actually be charged. This is unacceptable and raises suspicions about the establishment's practices.
Problems with the tip: When paying by credit card, I was charged the total amount including the tip. However, the staff insisted that I had to pay the tip again in cash, arguing that what was reflected on the bill would not be charged. This is completely inappropriate and generates distrust. But on my credit card statement, the entire amount was charged (twice the tip imposed by the restaurant for such poor service). In addition, I have the bill that supports what happened.
In short, I do not recommend this place to anyone. It is urgent that Mi Rancho Restaurante implement improvements in its customer service and review its internal practices to operate with greater ethics and professionalism. I hope that my experience is taken into account to prevent others from going through...
Read moreOk so this probably my 4-5th time ordering here. This location feels and is drastically different than the silver spring location. My job frequently gets catering from here so I have come to know the owner. The silver spring location is vibrant and warm people look happy service is great portions are definitely bigger. Now the Germantown location everytime I go I I feel unwelcome the portions should be considered the “child’s menu”
I ordered fajitas today then beans were barely half full in the bowl. One green pepper lots of onions about 5 small strips of steak and a couple shrimp.
The food was cold. When I asked for chips and salsa the manager whispered were closed and employee apologized for his actions as he strolled by unbothered(imagine me getting home to find I paid $25 for a meal that should have been $12 at best and cold and small portion and literally no one was in there. I really hate to give bad review but I will not return here. I think some people have gotten so comfortable being rude or unprofessional with people and service that customers will continue to patronize the business. I’m not you sold me a half meal with no regard to service that was cold and then blatantly we’re disrespectful in front of my face. So no more hard earned dollars going here 4th time is the charm. Unfortunate but I can’t continue to pay for...
Read more$21 for a fajita plate that consisted of half a pound (10 thin strips) of mildly seasoned meat, a single bell pepper slice, a few slices of onion, and a tablespoon of middling guacamole. The meat, onions, and single bell pepper slice took up about one-third of the skillet. At any other Tex-Mex restaurant, that skillet would be full to the brim with protein, onions, and peppers - and cost $12 to $16.
My friends' plates were equally overpriced and under delivered.
Overall I'd say you'll pay about twice to three times as much here for X quantity of food as you will any other family-style Tex-Mex establishment. I could understand paying that for a high-class restaurant, but there's nothing here that sets the place apart from any other Tex-Mex establishment. The seasonings are subdued, the chairs and tables are standard, the decor is standard, and the location is next to a bagel shop, a gas station, a burger king, and a pizza hut.
This strikes me as the type of place where white people with inexperienced palettes and more money than sense go to try "ethnic" food. The Apple of Tex-Mex, if you will.
I'm doing three stars instead of one because the place was clean and the staff were all friendly and professional. They deserve credit for that...
