This was the worst service I’ve ever had. I always tip, usually 25-30% when I go out to eat but this was the first time I didn’t tip at all. I spent $75 on an average meal. Endless dipping sauce, 3 entrees that came with an endless soup or salad. Except nothing was endless. Our waitress disappeared for 30+ minutes multiple times. We didn’t get refills on drinks, and had to ask other members of the wait staff for refills and boxes. We asked our initial waitress multiple times for things like more bread, more soup, more of the dipping sauce and she would say “of course” in an evidently insincere tone, and never return with our items. I eventually grabbed a manager for some help, and he blew me off completely, had someone else bring me a drink refill, and didn’t bring our boxes. I could see our waitress gossiping with coworkers in the beverage area doorway. It wasn’t even that busy! There were at least 10 members of the wait staff on duty, and it’s a Tuesday. I’ve never had an experience quite this bad at an Olive Garden before, and I usually visit the one in whitemarsh. The food was fine, the salad I got had old, discolored lettuce, and the water tasted like their filter needs to be replaced. There were children screaming, and multiple times staff members walked away to sing happy birthday without asking us if we needed anything. After we finished eating, I waited for about 10 minutes before I paid the bill and waited another 5-10 minutes for someone to ask if we needed boxes before I had to wave down a staff member. If this was a weekend, or they had been exceptionally busy, or our party was large, I would have understood. We probably should’ve walked out when we first got there and heard surrounding tables asking their waitress where their food and beverage refills were. This is really disappointing, and I’m not sure I’ll be back to visit another Olive Garden any time soon because of...
Read moreWelp, storytime: I tried multiple avenues of ordering online and the best I could get was a two and a half hr quote time for preparation. So, I tried calling directly. I was immediately placed on hold and had a twenty minute hold JUST to place my order for pickup. Frankly, I feel foolish for waiting that long. My only excuse is that my curiosity and hope for decent service at a national chain restaurant got the better of me. The preparation of the order took less time than the time it took to wait to place the incredibly simple order. THEN I go inside to wait and see no less than four employees standing at the hostess stand with their backs to me as I enter. Which, sadly, told me they weren’t as busy as the hold-time may have indicated. Upon sitting I was addressed and told to wait again for the hostess. Very shortly thereafter, the hostess came up front and my order was ready. I paid and departed. I foolishly didn’t check at the time for the accuracy of what I ordered. Which, honestly, I believe was my fault more than the restaurant as the issues I initially encountered should have had me on my game. My salad order was evidently input incorrectly. Additionally, I was told the mints and silverware were included, but they also weren’t. Photos included for validation. The food itself was fine, but I just can’t get over how horrible my experience was otherwise. I can’t say I won’t ever go back to another Olive Garden, but for me, this one was the worst I’ve ever experienced and I certainly won’t...
Read moreLet's just start with the online waiting list.... pointless. We always use this feature because we are a family of 7. Online gave 11-15 minute wait, well after 20 minutes went in to check and spoke with Pearl. She told me we had at least another 20 wait due to 2 other parties waiting. Wouldn't have a been an issue if she wasn't so rude and ignorant. After telling her what we were told about the original wait, she states she has no clue who told me that but that's our new wait time..... and continued a conversation with a co worker. No apologies for the wait nothing. Soooo after another 25 minutes we were seated. Took the waitress at least 7-8 minutes to get drinks. Then another 5 minutes for 3 waters and 3 Sprite... the Sprite was straight seltzer. Another waiter apologized and fixed that. We order 3 salads and 1 was unlimited....we received 1 bowl. Had to ask mid dinner for another. Unlimited bread sticks came out twice. Unlimited soups...yeah, after one bowl, she asked of we were done. Had to collect our dirty dishes and pile them up to be taken away. Drinks stayed empty..... absolutley the WORSE Olive Garden we have ever been to....2.5 hours later and $80 later, I wish we would have just stopped at McDonald's. Here a picture to show how our table was handled. The negative reviews we very accurate. Don't waste your time or money.
