Red lobster is not what it use to be. It's not the place to want to take a first date if you are trying to impress them, it's not the place for a special occasion.
Now it's more of a "do you feel like seafood tonight? Ok, let me grab my keys."
Don't dress up! I had a chic top, leather pants and the clientele walking out were wearing worn out jeans, joggers and jerseys that have seen better days - Walmart kinda run outfit.
Party of 4 - we got there about 8:30. Got seated immediately (good sign) - restaurant was 3/4 empty and that's more or less expected it was a weekday night.
Our server took a minute to get to us to take drink orders which took forever to get to us. I don't want to imagine what it would be like if the restaurant was half full.
Starters was a wait but my shrimps were rly good served on a bed of cabbage. Hence the 3 stars.
I tried the roscato for the first time and I loved it - so I've mentally added it to my fav drinks.
Server didn't check in between to encourage us to get more drinks we had to hope he pass by then get his attention to order more. Restaurant was now about 7/8 empty. Just about 3 tables occupied including ours.
Main courses took forever and no apologies from staff. Got my meal and sever told me oh be careful it's hot - the plate was hot the meal was almost room temperature.
One of the lobster tails (I had the duo) was so uncooked that to lower my risk of getting sick I didn't finish it. The tails were tasteless...the garlic dressing was separated oil and saturates....even trying to stir it was useless. Mashed potatoes was more like potato puree and the broccoli may as well be microwaved - everything just tasteless. I think they were better with the fish and shrimps as the other people in my party did not have lobster and said theirs were fine.
Server didn't really check on us much .... so where we probably would have ordered more drinks, we didn't.
They need to improve the customer service and put more seasoning in...
Read moreWent for dinner at this location on a Friday night, it didn't seem to be very busy, thankfully, and dinner was overall good & our server was very friendly and attentive. However, the host-a young woman with glasses-at the counter when we entered treated us with a really strange behavior, as if they were in too much of a rush to deal with us. It's understandable if they're busy and have other tasks to take care of, but the manner in which they went about "greeting" us felt extremely off-putting upon first entering the restaurant. They didn't make any eye contact with us, did not greet us in any way, immediately started whipping around and walking away from the front desk in a rush and commanded their co-host loudly "to seat them" two or three times, mumbling about needing to do something. There were no other customers around us or in line to be seated, so a quick smile and some eye contact and just letting us know it'll be a moment, or that their co-host will be right with us, would have sufficed, we understand things can get busy behind the scenes. Their co-host, a young man, was very polite and friendly, and seemed slightly taken aback by this too, but I could be wrong. He seated us promptly, and everything from there was fine, the behavior from that host just made us feel extremely awkward and a little...

Scallops smelled “fishy” and tasted the same. Walt’s fried shrimp was okay, as was the sautéed garlic shrimp. The shrimp cocktail appetizer came when the main meal was served. We had to ask for the side of broccoli that was ordered. The Diet Coke tasted like it had vanilla in it, so I asked the waiter for another. A few minutes later, a manager (I guess it was the manager, but she didn’t say) came by to inform me that they were out of Diet Coke and she brought me a glass of water. She asked if I wanted something else to drink, but there are no other diet beverages. Subsequently, I had to ask the waiter to remove the charge for the Diet Coke from my bill as this had not been done. Our server had his hands full with another table and we were neglected. He never came by to ask if our meals were okay or if we needed anything. He never offered to refill our drinks. Eventually he did apologize that he had not been attentive to our table. RL has discontinued their thousand island salad dressing, our absolute favorite. On a more positive note, the baked potatoes are as good as ever. Sorry to say, this may be our last time dining at RL. Because of this, my rating is...
