My last two visits have been disappointing. Two visits ago, the server (male) didn’t even take our dinner order until well after we had finished eating our appetizers, and everything including drinks was slow to come out. I chalked it up to an off night. There was another time earlier this year that my risotto was served cold and again, I gave benefit of the doubt.
However, last Friday the service was quite slow again despite the restaurant not being very full. The server was doing her best but mentioned that the bar was behind in getting the drinks out and I looked around wondering who they were busy serving? The place was almost empty.
To make matters worse, the food was also very slow to come out and all of us who got fish were disappointed in how over cooked and dry it was. I brought a friend who had never been and told her she would love it, but to my embarrassment her salmon was bone dry and she did not enjoy it.
My Ahi tuna was so dry that I couldn’t even eat it after a few bites. I’ve attached a photo of the fish on my plate vs your website photo just to demonstrate what I got vs what it should be.
Additionally, my husband sat facing the kitchen and he said that one of the cooks had stormed out in what appeared to be some kind of internal kitchen drama.
I’m not looking for compensation and I am not interested in being directed to your website to fill out a survey. I am genuinely posting this as constructive criticism so that you can hopefully improve. It may be a while before I come back again, if at all. Disappointing because this used to be one of my favorite places to go. I’m starting to understand why it’s been so quiet lately...
Read moreI had avoided this place because it was connect to an Outback Steakhouse, thinking that this would be like the Darden abomination that is Olive Garden/Red Lobster joint operations.
It isn't, at all. Granted it's a brand new store and still has a sparkle but the interior design is that of understated comfort and refinement without any snob factor. The staff is outfitted in an upscale chef's coat style, the cutlery is stout and the glass & tableware of a modern design.
So it's comfortable. Service is attentive and professional.
I had the halibut (market price at $27) with veggie sides. The veggies were fine, it's hard to screw up steamed broccoli (they were nice large crowns) and sauteed spinach. The halibut was outstanding. A perfectly char-grilled thick piece, maybe an inch thick, I'm guessing 8 oz. I was not left wanting. Tender, tasty, and fresh with a very nice char crust. I had it with the lemon butter dressing, they don't drown it, just an ounce or two on the top to enhance the natural flavor. Some of the best fish I've had in years. I did not expect to find that in our latest strip mall.
I'll be back to check out other items on the menu but it will be hard not to get the halibut again. The whole drive home I was thinking to myself, damn, that's some good fish. I wouldn't hesitate to take directors from my company there for lunch or dinner, in fact I hope to since we have a plant nearby. It's nice to have an upscale fish house in the area besides the casino which is not always appropriate for...
Read more4th visit to Bonefish Grill. Our 1st was in VA, where we fell in love with Bang Bang tacos! Once back in our home state of WA, we couldn’t wait to return. One order of the shrimp tacos is quite enough for 2 people along with a shared appetizer and the bread. The fried cauliflower is EXCELLENT! Next visit we tried the seasoned Brussel sprouts, which were a huge disappointment. They were completely charred and unpalatable. A family member goes “ga-ga” over the Mac-n-Cheese, and we had to try it. It was, without exception, the worst either of us had ever tasted. It was undercooked, lacked any semblance of any cheese, and basically dry and tasteless. We left the restaurant feeling money had been tossed away. The bread was, as usual, quite delicious. Servers/wait staff were limited for a weekend, the dining room was only 1/2 occupied, and excessive time was spent waiting to order, waiting for our food, and waiting to pay our bill. In previous visits, we have been served by “Jacob,” who has been conversant, personable, and appropriately interactive. For this visit, he again was our service worker/waier/server and was stretched too thin by our observations of dining room workers on duty. He never said a word about work conditions, poor staffing, etc., but took care of us with a professional attitude and engaging smiles. Unfortunately, we have no plans to return to this location. Sorry, but that’s the taste (or lack thereof) left in...
