With all the inflation and shrinkflation these days, we should at least get good service, and good service doesn’t cost anything to provide. It seems like many servers these days just don’t care about tips, and act very inconvenienced if asked for something. The thing is – the truly good servers are hardly asked for anything because they are observant, they care, they want good tips, they do their job well and bring things without being asked. This is my second time having Kasandra as my server, and the only reason I know her name is because it’s on my receipt. She doesn’t introduce herself with a smile, but more of a ‘I’m here what do you want, and don’t ask for much attitude’.…. The first time I thought maybe she was just having a bad day, but I was wrong. Straws, side plates for the appetizers, drink refills, refills on condiments are things you shouldn’t have to ask for, you shouldn’t have to stare people down to get these items, and when you do have to ask for something you should get a polite response instead of feeling like you’re inconveniencing them. We pay good money to go out and eat these days, and we should leave feeling happy about the experience, but sadly it's so rare these days. Things missing from many restaurants these days: Personality, smiles, menu presentation, specials, upselling/suggestive selling, checking in after 2 bites to ensure everything is great, pre-bussing, thanking the customer for coming in, and just the good ole fashioned customer service. I get better service ordering on an app these days…. sadly.
Now for the food – Outback is historically pretty consistent, but the quality and attention to detail has gone downhill over the last several years. Today I noticed the Bloomin’ Onion had shrunk. I Usually I get steak for the entrée, but my last couple of visits I hadn’t been very happy with the steak quality, so I figured I’d get the burger since it had been a while. Well, the burger was smaller than what I remember, the cheese was half the size of the patty, and I noticed the quality difference. Outback should go back to how they operated when they first opened and bring back the quality, the service and attention to detail, and bring back the hand cut fries too… these frozen fries just don’t compare to the OG Outback fries. It’s worth noting that this review is being written by someone who served tables for nearly a decade, and even worked for Everett Outback way back in the day. “No Rules, Just Right” only applies to Outback...
Read moreSo today is August 6 our 12th wedding anniversary. My husband and i wanted to try the new Outback Steakhouse in Smoke Point. We have been wanting to try it for several months but just couldn't find the time so we decided to go for our anniversary. We invited my mom and our sons to come with us. We got there and it was a little busy so we had to wait for a few minutes not a big deal. It was dinner time. We get to our table and we had already decided what we wanted so we ordered. We ordered pop and water. Never got the water. We ordered a Bloomin Onion for a starter. My mom and I ordered the special three-course meal with steak, lobster and slice of cheesecake for dessert. It was 19.99 we thought that was a good deal for a special day. My husband got a burger, frys and salad. My son Chicken on the barbie. The waitress came out with a Bloomin Onion and walked all around the restaurant and then took it back and my husband was saying to me that he thought that was ours. Our salad came out and ot was reall good. Then the food came my husband asked about the onion, she went back and got one and said there was an extra one. Our stake was a little over cooked but not to bad. Needed to be seasoned. My mom and I did not get our lobsters so we asked about that and she went back and brought them out to us. They were really really good. She said that she had written down our order wrong. She did comp the price for us because it was her mistake. She was good about bringing my husband more pop. They seemed really short staffed. I overheard them saying that someone had called in with a family emergency. But it still seemed that they should have had more staff. We never got our cheesecake. She never came back after bringing out the bill. So we decided we would get some dessert later. Our new baby was getting fussy as it was just after 8pm and we didn't want to ruin other peoples meal around us so we headed out as soon as our...
Read moreI would put down 0 if I could. This location used to be amazing and I loved going. When I went in with my mom we had a nice server, they were great to a point. They brought out the food, but got everything wrong on mine accept the potato soup. So, I told the server. They took my food back besides my soup, people mess up no biggie. The soup was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. Huge, not fully cooked chunks of potatoes I have never seen quarter chunks of potatoes in a soup like this. The flavor was just disgusting. Time rolls on and my mom and son are completely done with their meals before my meal comes back out wrong AGAIN. The blooming onion we ordered was also undercooked and the batter towards the middle of it was completely raw. I would just take it as a bad day in the kitchen. So, I asked if I could talk to a manager. The manager comes by and when I am very nicely explaining what happened and what was under cooked/not cooked enough so she knows and could fix it so no one else has the same experience as I did (I am dang easy to please I work in restaurants, I dont like being the squeaky wheel and I'm not picky but this was just not good) the manager got a snotty tone with me and pretty much told me this was their restaurants standards and that if I didnt like it I didnt have to eat there again. That she was sorry that their restaurants standards didnt meet my standards.
All in all, your managers suck. That is not how you treat customers especially as the person who is supposed to be the standard they expect their employees to be. I will never come here again. I wouldn't have minded trying it again if I were to not be bashed so harshly by a manager. I wasn't even rude and got met with the most disrespectful words I have ever heard be uttered out of an...
