Update: I did hear from the local store owner, who emailed and asked what happened and what they could do. I was told the "small" sandwich is 3-4" so if you're an adult, don't bother. I replied and never heard back. Ultimately, they did nothing. It was a far cry from the great service and great sandwiches I used to CRAVE years ago. They simply don't care. I used to live in Florida and absolutely LOVED Firehouse subs. Hadn't been to one in over a decade, so I stopped in today while visiting nearby from up near the Canadian border. I ordered the New York Steamer, to go. In store, the small is described as an approximately 6" sandwich. Per my photos, you can see that the to go box is the width of a car key. My sandwich combo, which was over $12, entailed a car key sized sandwich, chips and a small drink. Just unbelievable what companies are trying to get away with today with smaller portions at higher cost! Shameful! This should be described as a kid's meal, for little kids, like preschoolers. Also, in Florida, the sandwiches would be toasted to perfection. This was not toasted. The bread was un-toasted and the sandwich was lukewarm and soft the way it would be if you popped it in a microwave for 15 seconds. You know what I mean? Also, I pointed out that a long hair was dangling from inside the ice maker mechanism where the ice drops down into cups. The young man set about removing the hair and disinfecting the dispenser. The two stars are ONLY for the woman who took my order who was friendly and courteous. I actually tipped a dollar on a fast food to-go order. I'm so sick of subsidizing big corporations' starvation wages by being asked to tip for every little thing. I feel like I should've gotten my money back, but I took it to go and had a long drive back and didn't have time to return there. I hope I don't get sick.

Will not being going back. My last visit was the last straw. I ordered a salad, which according to their door they were out of lettuce, but they still served a salad in my order. It was made of translucent Brown pieces of lettuce and several almost black slimey pieces, and that was just under the other veggies on the top. I also ordered their baked potato soup. Previously it has been creamy and delicious. This time it was curdled, like it had been sitting in the pot to long or yesterdays soup. It also had a rancid smell. They were out of all but coke zero, which was flat. My husband's sandwich was turkey, bacon and ranch dressing on soggy bread, no toast to the bread at all and no lettuce (due to the lettuce lacking) I called multiple times with no answer and voicemail full. So I drove the 25 minutes back, where I was given a refund, but was told my order had been put out a while ago. So basically the lettuce and soup went bad in the hour and a little bit since we picked it up. This is not the first time my food has been subpar. Normally I can pick a few yucky pieces out of my salad and toast the bun of my husband's sandwich a little more. This time it was over the top bad, where I thought I would be beyond sick if any of my food was consumed. I am beyond disappointed with this place and it supports a great cause, but there is no reason to be without lettuce or be serving the lettuce it was.

Worst firehouse Experience of my life. First off they had no lettuce or onions, then the kid taking my order absolutely ruined the visit. He never asked me about any options for my sandwiches, and then still got them both incorrect then proceeded to make my sandwiches reversed, they put nothing on my ham Sandwich and then put mustard and tomatoes on my Brisket? They forgot the extra pickles I asked for, . I will never be returning to this location due to the fact the guy working cashier completely threw away any Customer service skills he ever learned .

For starters I am frugal person so when my fiance and myself walked in I almost walked out. To me spending 12 dollars for a large sandwich is a little excessive and my expectations are going to be set pretty high. We were greeted warmly by a older gentleman who took our order. My fiance placed a order for a medium New Yorker which I believe is corned beef and pastrami and I ordered a large smoked brisket they only had two choices for bread white or wheat, we got a meal which is a fountain soda and a bag of small chips for almost 3 dollars extra. They gave my daughter a adorable firefighter hat and asked if we wanted to round up the 70 cents or so to donate to some firefighting organization which I though was cool. Our order came fairly quickly I wasn't aware that it came with no vegetables and they weren't offered to me while taking my order at the register I didn't ask because I don't like being a bother plus there was a line forming. There is a small sign no bigger than 8 inches next to the register that list the additional things to add to your sandwich. I did not see any additional signage on the main menu or any real indicators. I was really frustrated that this wasn't pointed out to me or offered, I would like to think they would at least ask if I wanted salt, pepper vinegar ECT I mean Subway does, I guess they assumed that I knew about it.The cashier did point me in the direction of their hot sauces they probably had 30 different choices ranging from mild to insane ghost pepper sauce that brought tears to my eyes just smelling it. Our sandwiches arrived hot and the cheese melted perfectly. There was a decent amount of meat on them I was fairly happy walsoith portion size. I really felt like they could have added maybe 15% more and it would have been perfect but that's just my personal preference. They didn't spread the meat that great, Its kind of a big pet peeve of mine. I feel like its sloppy it makes me feel like they didn't really put pride in there work, I think im worth the extra 5 to 20 seconds. I so after me adjusting it so it was even I took my first bite. The smoked brisket was delicious it was tender, moist and was full of awesome smoked Deliciousness that you generally only get from smoking several hours low and slow it. Honestly I think it rivaled some great bbq spots I have tried over the years. The cheese they used was amazing as well and complimented it perfectly the bbq sauce was sweet and a little tangy and rounded out the flavor. My fiances New Yorker was really good as well. She got a little luckier with her meat portion and it was loaded the Pastrami and corned beef, the meat was tender and tasted like grandma let it simmer all day in the crockpot. Its the type of comfort food we love coming home to piled between 2 pieces of soft white bread. Well my verdict for this place is they make great sandwiches. They are 10x better than Subway which I don't care for at all. The quality of meat was night and day difference it didn't have that processed food taste like it was canned and cheese that tastes like off brand non dairy type the is individually wrapped. The atmosphere is cool with the obvious fire house decor. The hot sauce bar was a welcome treat that I thought was unique and cool. It was clean overall except a couple tables that needed bussing and did not get attended to the 30 mins I was there. 25 dollars for 2 sandwiches a soda and a small bag of chips I felt was a little steep but I would happily recommend them and look forward to my...
