I never bad review places because I know humans can be human and we all have bad days but I genuinely couldnât believe what happened and Iâm still shocked a week later.
To preface this, I was on the phone during these interactions having a very difficult phone call with family over a health situation my family member was experiencing. I only say that, not only because I may have spoken to someone about this to fix it in the moment if I wasnât on the phone, but also because it goes to show how we treat humans (especially when we donât know what theyâre going through) can impact their day greatly.
Firstly, Iâm fully aware that the rule has changed about when having a membership, but forgetting your card, some places offer a âday passâ if you forgot. I had been told that thatâs possible at other locations by friends of mine, I guess this location doesnât offer that. There was a woman checking receipts as per usual. I walked through the exit doors to visit the cafeteria while I was waiting for a friend to meet me. This I guess was violation number one? The woman aggressively began snapping her fingers in my face to get my attention. I pulled away from my phone and apologized thinking I forgot to show my card before walking in. She began yelling at me for coming in through the exit, I apologized and she promptly moved me outside. Then I realized I forgot my Costco card so I went in through the side door where I had seen others going through to visit the help desk and she began yelling at me again. I explained to her I was trying to see the help desk and the lady at the help desk began yelling at me as well. I tried to explain I needed to get a day pass since I forgot my card at home and she pointed at the door and asked me to leave. This was loud enough for all of the other customers to stop and watch me, obviously humiliated, be kicked out.
I have never been treated like this with not patience or understanding or explanation. I have gone in through that way plenty of times. I donât understand how incredibly rude they were. I work in customer service and if I ever spoke to anyone that way or at that level or that loud Iâd get fired. Iâm embarrassed. It could have been explained so much better and I could have just left and been refused without being scolded. Itâs a real shame it wasnât just one grumpy older woman, it was two woman yelling at another woman. If this gets back to those two woman, I was having a horrible day and I take pride in attempting to make others days better by having grace and being kind at my place of work and you absolutely should learn to try that too or be moved away from working with customers who pay to shop at that store....
Read moreGreat service in the tire center! I was in to get a tire rotation and a repair on a tire that had picked up a nail. These are both free services when you buy your tires from Costco. I had the pleasure of working with Dave in the tire center. He was very friendly and helpful. I had wanted to get these two things done that day but I was told that they were booked up for that day, so I had set an appointment for the next day. As I was leaving and settling the appointment in my phone, I was walking across the parking lot and finishing up the appointment, when I thought I heard my name being called and thought "it must be someone else's name that sounds close to mine or it is a different person with the same name". Then I herd my name again and turned to see if it was someone calling for me. I then saw Dave and he was calling me over to tell me to bring my van around right now as the the previous appointment finished up really early and he could get me in now. SWEET! I got him my van and waited off to the side of the service bays where they had some seats and also a canopy. Now, if you have never gotten your tires replaced at Costco then you are not aware that they fill your tires with nitrogen, hence the green valve caps you will see on cars. Nitrogen is awesome as it is more temperature stable than air and more resistant to leak out as well. The bigger bonus is that Costco has tire refill stations that use nitrogen, though you can top off your tires with air if you needed to with no adverse effects. Once my tires were done my van was brought out to me and I was told to come by in a few days for them to do a check and re-torque if necessary, and boom just like that I was done. I have to give Dave and his service team big props for going above and beyond, completely unexpected and totally appreciated, I will definitely recommend getting your...
Read moreWell it a started one lonely day, I wanted to feel acceptance in life so I went into the everett location with my groupon.
Because I wanted to feel like a real person, I easily was sold on the purchase an executive membership as well as the Citi bank card. Finally, at the age of 32, I'm an executive at something.
I waited ever so patiently 8+ weeks, and I did not receive my goodies I was planned! Oh nope! Is it me? Did my hair not look nice? Did they know that I tore off the tag to the last mattress I purchased and this is karma out to get me???
That's when I went into Smokey Point location, yes, I call it Smokey Point not marysville because I'm not a conformist, I dont let "the man" tell me what to do.
There was no manager available when I went, a gentleman said he'd pass my info along.
I called a few days later, and I was transferred to a lovely human being named Alicia I think? She assured me that she has no idea who in charge of the Everett operation, but she is the supervisor, and when she speaks, people listen.
She called me back I believe within a day and had my cash card waiting for me! I told her I'd be in at 11am next day. I was unable to because I was super hungover and had to go straight to work in Seattle, I told her some lie like traffic was bad of course, because we were becoming such good friends, I didnt want her to believe I'd chose alcohol over our committed time to resolve this.
Since then I'm amazed at my interactions with her, and the entire staff. My expectations were already high right off the bat, but come on, I AM an executive member clears throat. But the lady in glasses really raised the bar, which is really unfair to other companies really, but I dont care, I dont have a Bob cut, and my name isnt Karen, I know how to deal with customer service issues. Thanks to...
