The experience was awful. The staff was very rude that boards you on the little boat, the captain was nice. They did not care about the safety of my kids at all. The lady we booked through when we called them was named Jane or Jana or Gene, something like that was rude and condescending when I brought up some of our experience, but she said ok, and hung up.
Also, and the MOST IMPORTANT PART. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM. in Lahaina and other little tourist boutique shows will sell you tickets for as low as $39 and other places at $49 a person. We paid $120 per person, and they made all 3 of us ride at the same time. So yes $360 for 10 minutes, totally not worth it. So DO NOT book through them, they will charge and through out random numbers and if you say yes like we did, I guess its your fault. But take a little time, and you can find them same thing for $39 or $49, and I've seen 2 for price of 1 specials. When I asked to get some of the money back for being ripped off, that is when she hung up and never answer my...
Read moreWhat is Parasailing? Imagine soaring high above the Pacific Ocean in a specially designed parachute while being towed behind a high tech speed boat. West Maui Parasail's custom built winch boats are "state of the art", utilizing a hydraulic launch and recovery system. providing for safe, easy take-off and landings directly from the flight deck of the boat. Each ride is under complete control for an effortless ocean thrill ride. You don't even have to get wet - but it's more fun if you do!
Marybeth went first - though she is acrophobic, it was like floating on air. You can see for miles around and the water below is an inviting, sapphire blue.
We were shuttled out to the speed boat with another couple. Shuttling allows for the parasail team to almost constantly concentrate on their guests' rides.
Interestingly enough, when the wind whipped up too much, West Maui Parasail was one of (if not the only one) to refuse to fly their parachutes. It seems they are more interested in the safety of their riders...
Read moreParasailing was awesome. Very peaceful in the air. The crew was also nice, so shout out to them (J&F).
My problem is that we spent $240+tip for 8 minutes of parasailing (I recorded it). The 8 minutes began when we were attached to the chute and stopped when we landed. I expected the ride to be much longer.
I read a response stating that the ride duration is clearly stated on their website.. I only found it in the FAQ section. If I saw that before, I would have never booked…probably. You visit 4 pages on their website from the home page to purchase page and none of them state how long the ride is.
Unless you really want to parasail (it was my first time, so I did, but I also didn’t know how short it was going to be), I recommend doing a snorkel tour with Teralani instead. That was probably my favorite experience.
I’m not saying it isn’t worth the money, but it’s a shocker when you didn’t make your decision with all the variables. You should “clearly” state the duration somewhere in the...
