Hunter Crab Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Memphis

We go here because my husband loves the sea food boil. For me there is nothing there that I love since I don’t eat seafood. Yesterday for the first time I ordered the wings 1/2 Buffalo and 1/2 cajun. My husband’s food came out FAST and I mean fast. Fastest it’s ever came out. He was shocked as was I. My food however didn’t come. It’s ok I asked for extra crispy wings I knew mine would take a bit. About 10 -15 mins into my husband eating out come my wings. The waiter said they made them wrong. They are bbq with a side of Cajun. He said do you still want them or no? I’m confused bc that is not what I ordered why come out and ask if I wanted something I didn’t order? I said no thank you, I don’t like bbq. He said so you don’t want them? No, I don’t but I’ll eat the fries. Do you just want to try them? No I don’t like them. He said I can have them make the ones you wanted. I said it’s ok my husband is about done with his food I don’t want to wait longer and then have my husband sitting here when I eat. We came to share a meal together. He said ok, and said he was going to ask his manager to take it off the bill. I said thank you I appreciate that as this isn’t what I ordered. He then came back and said the manager left and the 2nd in charge said he wouldn’t take it off the bill unless the manager was there. We ended up paying 60 for some French fries and my husband’s boil. He asked if we wanted separate checks? lol then he stood there as I filled out the check? I felt like he was forcing me to take a meal I didn’t want and then saying, well we can have it remade. Here’s a thought, come out and say they made it wrong and they are correcting it. When coming here with my family, it was our first and last time. My mom and brother got the crab boils while i got fried fish and shrimp. The boils were good by what my family said but my food was down right terrible. They put no seasoning on my food at all. Nothing had flavor which is piss poor. Beware the gratuity! There is a %16 gratuity that you are required to pay no matter what! When you walk in, at the bottom of their podium there is a sign they made that says you have to pay the gratuity, which is a scummy bull crap move, because no one is thinking to look down at the bottom of the podium, nor do they do anything to bring attention to it. The waiters are not doing that good of work for them to have a gratuity! Me and my folks should have left like how I saw multiple families do. I should have told them my food wasn’t good and have them take that price off the receipt, since they want a gratuity. Hunters is a scam restaurant that sits empty most of the time, and curiosity kills cats. I’m upset Abuelos closed down and not this place! I only gave five starts so my comment could be seen and not hidden. The food is mediocre, the service is awful, and the place sits empty....

I HATE the smell of seafood HOWEVER when we went to this place, it DID NOT SMELL like seafood AT ALL. It actually smelled pretty good. Our server Jason was amazing and gave us feedback. The wings were regular and like nay other wings. They were crunchy and did not taste like they were fried in fish grease. I do prefer the regular fries over the Cajun fries. The catfish platter was phenomenal. The seasoning was off the chain and very crunchy. His seafood looked amazing but i am not a fan of it so o just watched him eat it. My hubby said it was good lol. The cheesecake taste store bought but good. The onion rings were ok. Nothing special tho. Its just regular cheesecake. The place was clean and they have a bar. We went around 745 ish and it was nit packed. It is a wk day. I would probably not try the wknd lol. All in all, we will be going back. Ooooh you will get full. We got all the food listed for 100 dollars. Update 4/30... I went back for the drinks and the chicken tender basket. The bartender named KAT did her thang! Our drinks were amazing. Not too sweet and not a lot of alcohol. The right mix for a Sunday. I would recommend her. The strips didnt taste like fish grease...
