Rubio's Coastal Grill — Restaurant in Menifee

Tried this place for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Was in the mood for seafood! Still am! It's a seafood month for me, LOL!

Got the 2 taco meal with the beans and rice. Also came with tortilla chips that look like they were just made. Everything was spot on Delicious! It was so good that I went back about a week later, and got the regular fish taco with the fish burrito. OMG! I could LIVE here and die Happy! You get fish and shrimp in Every. Single. Bite!! No lie...Every bite! And the sauce is Fantastic! Has a bit of a bite to it, but not overly done. I generally don't do well with spicy food, but this was doable. With a larger drink handy😜.

At first I thought it a little "pricey" for "fast food fare". About $20 for the fish and burrito meal that came with beans, rice and chips, and a large drink. However, the quality of the food makes up for it. Fish tastes fresh, not frozen and defrosted. And if it is, please don't tell me!!! 🤔. And you will Not leave hungry! Portions are generous. The place was clean and organized. Everyone was friendly, and they bring it to your table. Only thing that would make it better would be wifi connectivity.🤔

Placed an order for Rubio’s through DoorDash for 4 chicken bowls for the Menifee, Ca location. Received the delivery which was not sealed, just bagged normally without taking any precautions, especially during this pandemic. Took the bowls out the bags to find red sauce spilled on the bottom/outside of all 4 bowls and I didn’t even get red sauce on my bowls. I called to speak with the manager and I let him know that the bowls were sloppy and the should be extra careful during this time. I grabbed my bowl to sit down and eat only to bite in to hard rice!!!!! I called Dat, the manager and told him about it. I spoke with my family about the bowls and I found out all the bowls had hard, stale rice!!! I’ve picked up food from this locations several times, this is one of my favorite places to eat so I don’t understand what’s going on. Maybe there’s a new manager? But quality assurance is not being done and if there’s anytime do do quality assurance, it’s now!! Anyway, Dat told me to come back in and he would make me 4 fresh bowls. But the problem with that is, I placed an order through DoorDash so I wouldn’t have to leave the house. Now I have to get dressed, get in my car and drive to Rubio’s!!! Ordered food online for pick up, impressed with ease of online ordering system. Arrived to pick up food, the employees verify that every item is in the order before leaving the store. Come home and six salsas were missing, okay, but not the end of the world. The street taco plate I ordered is supposed to consist of meat, guacamole, onion and cilantro. Two of the chicken tacos had maybe 3 pieces of chicken and the tiniest smear of guacamole. Extremely disappointed in the quality of the food prepared. 2020 has forced families to order take out since there is no indoor dining allowed. You would think that there would be a high standard of food preparation in order to keep businesses thriving. Called and spoke to the manager on duty and her response was that she was sorry and she would let her team know. Customer service is sub-par. I ate my 6 cubes of chicken that I paid around $9 for hoping she “let her team know,” so another patron is not as disappointed as I am. Will not be returning again.
