Ike's Love & Sandwiches — Restaurant in Mesa

I have been a huge supporter of Ike's Sandwiches for years and was super excited when they opened up a new location at Alma School, right by my work. I started going there on a weekly basis and always enjoyed trying new sandwiches, until today... I decided to take my Dad with me there for the first time... only to have the girl at the front counter greet us in a Satan shirt with an upside down cross on it. I'm all for freedom of speech expression. I don't have an issue with her wearing a shirt promoting her beliefs in Satan, but when you wear a shirt with an upside down cross attacking and denouncing MY Lord, it made both me and my father feel unwelcome. Imagine if you were Jewish and you walk into a restaurant having your order taken by someone wearing a swastika T-shirt. That's what it feels like. To make matters worse they messed up our order big time! I felt bad because my Dad is hesitant to come back now and I'm beginning to wonder who's hiring staff at this location. I know this is not what Ike would want and this isn't the norm for this sandwich chain. I don't plan on going back to this location any time soon, and will start going to the one on...

This was THE sandwich shop of ALL sandwich shops. SERIOUSLY IT WAS TO DIE FOR!! (And I am SUPER PICKY about my food..ask my husband!) It's in Mesa off Alma School Road. Their meat is tender, juicy and flavorful. It looks like it's sliced fresh off the bone. The best part is the meat is like 3" high when piled on your amazing sandwich and the cheeses are so good. They have all these incredible sauces and dozens of creative specialty sandwiches to choose from, as well as the traditional favs like Italian..club..pastrami, meatball (which taste 100% BETTER than your old favs...I am sure!) My husband and I each ordered the JeremyAffeldt, which is a LOT of everything good in this world..on one huge mouth watering sandwich. (I even found gluten free bread here..that was SO GOOD!) The nice guy working here went above and beyond and was super patient explaining all the sandwiches and his recommendations and even gave me a sample of the sauce I was asking about. We could barely finish 1/2 of our sandwiches and took the other half home. Two more...

Love the food but the service really bums me out. I order a sandwich online for lunch multiple times a month, and they almost always mess up my order. (Missing avocado, missing side of dirty sauce, wrong cheese, etc..) This is not an exaggeration, I do not believe my order has once been correct from this store.

Today when I noticed that the extra side of sauce was once again missing, I decided to overcome the social anxiety that causes me to place an online order in the first place and ask for it. The associate argued back and forth with me, taking an additional 5 mins out of my lunch break, just to sort out that it was actually missing from my bag and I did actually pay for an extra side..

She kept claiming that sometimes they add extra to the sandwich instead.. but that is not what I ordered and paid for. I checked when I finally got home and there wasn't any extra on my sandwich either.. I really don't understand why I had to face that much trouble and pushback over some dang sauce that I got...
