This place is not it. I live in the area and wanted to try this place based on the reviews but it’s a mistake I won’t make again. Mediocre food for a lot of money. I’ll go into detail for the benefit of the restaurant and patrons. I sat down and ordered a regular coke to a gentleman taking my order. He proceeded to give me a Diet Coke, which is no big deal, I’ll just let them know the mistake so he can correct it. Except I can’t, because as soon as he dropped off the soda, he went outside and was pretty much not seen again. Keep in mind the restaurant is empty except for my table at this point on a Saturday night (should have been a hint). Another lady working there finally walks by and I tell her the mistake, she promptly walks a outside to talk to the first server and then goes to get me another drink. She comes back with ANOTHER Diet Coke. When I tell her I ordered a regular coke she looks at me like I’m trying to prank her or something and says “uhh but the first server said that’s what you ordered.” It doesn’t matter what the first server said, he got it wrong so why are you just not listening to me? Please note this is not a language barrier issue, I speak fluent English and Spanish. On the third try, we finally get the regular coke. None of this is the end of the world but it keeps going.
I ordered a burger (Hercules) with fries and a side of cheese. Burger is mediocre, not better than any decent chain and there are probably about 3 other better burger places in walking distance. Fries came but without the side of cheese so I had to ask for it again. Which was a mistake because to me it was just canned cheese wiz that they charge a dollar for. Even if it wasn’t, I don’t know how any self-respecting Argentinian establishment would serve this “cheese”. The fries were decent but the seasoning was bland. I eat my food and I’m ready to go, except again, both servers keep going outside for some reason to the point that the restaurant is totally empty except for my table for long stretches at a time. At no point was I asked if I wanted a refill on soda or water or even just to sell me something else. Here’s come the bill though.
The waitress comes with the point of sale and I ask her if the tip is included (like most Miami restaurants) and she tells me “no” to my face without going into any detail. The machine defaults to 10, 15, 20% tip and I tip 15% despite everything because that’s what society conditions us to do and maybe they just had an off day. She prints the bill for me and there was already a 15% service charge added to the bill and I added another 15% on top of that. So I just paid 30% over the menu prices. What is the service charge, if not the tip? Are we expected to pay 30+% over advertised prices now? If the service charge is part of the restaurant upkeep just add that to the menu prices, restaurants act like they are spirit airlines now. The total for ONE burger, ONE order of fries, and ONE drink comes out to $37. I can recommend you about 50 sit down restaurants in Miami that serve much more than just burgers for that price. It’s not about being cheap, it’s about being fair. Overall, I don’t see this place staying open for very long but I hope the team can improve. At this moment in time, I cannot recommend this place and will not be...
Read moreOn February 2, me and my friend decided to check out this restaurant as we are visiting Miami from Toronto and staying at a hotel nearby. Originally, when we ordered, we thought that we were going to leave and we ordered our food to go, upon getting our food we then changed our mind and decided to sit down as we were waiting for other people and figured it would be better to just eat there. At the time the restaurant wasn’t busy and there was a lot of free tables. We decided to take a seat at the nearest table. While eating, we noticed that one worker in particular, a young gentleman (approximately mid to late 20s ) with short brown waved hair and an arm sleeve tattoo, was giving us a lot of attitude and talking behind our backs pointing towards us, to who seemed like the owner (who was on a laptop) we weren’t quite sure. During eating, me unaware of him being upset at us I called him over, to ask him for ketchup he completely ignored me. I then proceeded to walk up to him and ask him for it. He then shoved it in my hand, quite rudely. Fast forward towards the end of our less than par experience at this restaurant. I asked him if we can get two Gingerale’s he then very rudely said, “huh” as if I wasn’t a paying customer, he then didn’t say anything walked away ,didn’t get the ginger ale by the way, and then stormed back towards us very rudely and proceeded to say how, we ordered for takeout. We can’t sit if we sit he needs pay. I was unaware that it was 12% gratitude to sit at the table. I don’t mind paying that 12% gratitude. Mind you my meal was roughly only $7 usd, so for him to behave like that for less than five dollars gratitude combine between both me and my friends meal is as astonishing. If that was the issue, us sitting down, all he had to do was tell us from as soon as we sat down that if we were to sit, we would have to pay 12% gratuity, but him talking behind our back, giving me a tremendous amount of attitude ruined my whole experience at this restaurant and lead me to never visit this place again and to leave this review. It’s just the principle of the matter. It wasn’t that serious for him to...
