"Boutique hotel" may be another word for slum lord room rentals! My goodness, where to begin?
Ok, the only thing decent about this place is proximity to the beach. The end.
The pictures they provided on Trip Advisor and Expedia have got to be 20 years old or older! This place is a run down husk of what is shon on those photos! There's a little disclaimer about having removed the amenities such as pillows and other decor due to sanitation during COVID but the place is so otherwise unsanitary that this feels like an excuse for the false advertisement! I’ve included photos of the amenities listed on Expedia and I checked off all the lies. I also included pictures of the property itself. You check in at a different location than the building the room is in. Expedia lists "parking available" but it means you can park on the streets if you can find somewhere that is within 3-5 blocks. The courtyard is somewhat cute, though aged. No cushions or umbrellas on the patio furniture. Our room was at the end of a dark second floor walkway, facing the alleyway with a broken light fixture so very unsafe. The room was listed as 1 or 2 queen beds (which should have sent alarm bells) but actually has 1 queen bed with a pull out sofa with an extremely thin mattress on both. Bed had sheets only, no blankets or comforter anywhere in the room. No daily cleaning service was also blamed on COVID restrictions but that's a lie based on the previous reviews! We only got towels and sheets once after going over to the office and calling them again! And they left them at on the arm of the sofa but didn't change the sheets or take the dirty towels. I didn't see roaches or ants like the other guests but I see lots of traps and baits for rats and roaches. Peeling paint, rusting fixtures, tile and grout broken, dirty, cracked...shifting foundation so some doors don't close at all and others have huge spaces in the frame. Broken lamps, low water pressure so don't wash your hair! You'll never get all the shampoo out. Kitchen appliances were full size but the stove smelled of burnt food and there's a reason the toaster and coffee maker looks brand new; THERES NOWHERE TO PLUG THEM IN!!! They provide a few utensils and dishes but no dishwashing liquid after a notice that says they don't sanitize them to Federal restaurant standards. Every towel hook or bar was broken off so nowhere to hang up your towels. Lots of closet space if you bring your own hangers. Dinette chairs are peeling badly. The floor is dirty and cracked so don't dare walk around barefoot or in your socks. No extra towel to spare for anything so we had to use a beach towel to step out of the shower onto. The remote control is sooooo disgusting I only picked it up once to turn off the TVS as they were on when we arrived. Whenever I am in a suite, I check the adjoining room door for security, I opened the door and I was sorry I did. There's a hall between the door to the other room that's just horrifying! See pictures attached!
My reviews are generally more organized but I just have the heebie-jeebies so I don't want to think about it any longer than I have to! We stayed 4 days because our rate was non-refundable but now I need a full body antibacterial/antifungal scrub and therapy! Make sure your tetanus shot is updated if you decide you want to...
Read moreWe booked our trip from with Lufthansa from Germany. When we arrived at the address on our Accomomodaation Voucher 7710 Harding Ave. no one was there and the door was closed. After about 20 minutes, a spanish speaking cleaning woman came out of the building and we asked her, where to check in. Because we don´t speak spanish and she didnt understand english, we had to translate everything with google. After further 5 minutes, we found out, that we had to go to "Seaside-Apartments" in 8100 Harding Ave., where the Frontdesk for the "Beachside-Apartments" should be. There, we where able to check in and we had to carry our luggage back to Beachside-Appartments. The room itself looked nice for the first view, but after checking out everything, we found out that the toilet was not working, the shower was dropping and leaking, also the lever came of when we tried to turn the shower on. There where stains of "something" on the bedsheet, also there was dirt in every corner. Also, the wireless-lan was not working. So, we went back to Seaside-Appartments-Frontdesk and told the guy, that we cant use our shower and toilet, and we want to change our room or at least, get it fixed. The Guy told us, that he will send someone soon. In the next day, nothing has happened and after we returned in the evening, also nothing has happened. We had to go to toiled in restaurants in the surrounding - after ~ 9 p.m., thats a bad idea by the way, because there was a pimp in front of our window, collecting money from his employees. So, we called our booking agency. Lufthansa then talked to someone from Seaside-Appartments and they where told, that in the next day, someone will come to fix it. So we waited one more day. On that next day, we waited until 11:30 a.m. No one was cominig to fix anything. So, we called Lufthansa again, and they told us, they will try to speak to the Manager for changing our room. After one hour, Lufthansa called us back and they told us, they where not able to get anyone to the phone. So, Lufthansa canceled our stay in this hotel and we got a new hotel from Lufthansa (The Stiles Hotel).
At the check in, we had to pay 319$ for the reservation-fee. Thats, okay, every hotel charges this reservation-fee. But: The woman at the frontdesk told us, that is for using the wireless lan, service and so on. After we checked out after only 3 of 14 days, we wanted to get the money back for the days we didnt use all those things. There was no answer on...
Read moreI booked a 2 bedroom stay at Harding Suites in North Miami, getting into our apartment was only good part of our stay - the management company has a great lock key box in front of each door which is great if the last booking leaves their key. ||||Two other people during our stay knocked on my door assuming they'd been scammed as there was no key but the issue became present quite quickly, all the apartments were unmanned and cleaning was only done before an after a stay. So it seemed no one was checking to ensure the keys remained or if the cleaning was up to any sort of standard.||||The lack of cleaning or regular checks from the property managers meant the apartments remained dirty, and we had two apartments during our stay. Think getting out of the shower and having black or dusty feet from walking out the shower to the bedroom), this was odd as we saw cleaning teams regularly but it seems that they don't actually clean (sweep or mop the floors) so we had loads of dirty socks in the end which was terrible.||||Our main issue was that our shower didn't work and it was hell trying to get through to the management company (rocket stay), it took over 72 hours to get the problem resolved. We emailed, texted and called several times and it was hard to get through to them and when we did calls were rarely returned until I had enough of no hot water and refused to come off the phone (international dial also which cost me a lot) to which we finally were offered a new apartment with 25% discount because we decided to stay.||||The 25% refund took 2 months to get back as rocketstay agreed to it, claimed it was done then 10 days later said that i was not getting the refund because it wasn't agreed to. Luckily I had emails proving their lie and booking.com helped me get my partial refund but they were very shady in how they managed everything.||||I wouldn't recommend staying here, it's about 20 minutes minimum from the main areas of South Beach (the clubs, restaurants and most other good hotels) but if you want a quite one this area is okay. There is a great load of shops, a few restaurants and pharmacies about a 10 minute walk from the property and a beach a 5 minute walk away (which we preferred to south beach) but in relation to this particular property, we wouldn't recommend it but the area in...
